He held out his fork topped with a large portion of the dish. I couldn’t wait to eat more of it. One thing about me, I loved to eat and try new things. This dish was divine and would be going on my list of new finds. Meydad switched between feeding me and savoring his meal. In between bites, we laughed and chatted about random shit. He was a total nice guy, much different than his biker persona that I was used to. I took a sip of the rosé wine he ordered and fantasized about what he was going to do to my body when he took me home.

We ate every last morsel of the Paella, but my pasta went untouched. When the waiter brought my container of food to take home, I was more than ready to leave. Meydad took me by the hand and led me to his Cuda. Again, he opened the passenger door for me, and I swooned. I figured his manners would have waned during dinner, but the gentleman he was portraying seemed to be a real part of him. It was a strange occurrence, but it was something I could get used to experiencing. The man treated me like I mattered, and it felt good.

“Meydad, what’s the deal? Why are you being so nice to me?”

He chuckled and looked at me like I was doing a set in the comedy club. Then he realized I was serious when I didn’t join in the laughter. The smile fell from his face, and his eyes pinned me to my seat. His face hovered over mine as he spoke, causing a chill to trickle down my spine.

“You are special, Sharon. You deserve to be treated nicely. Any man who does anything other than value you, isn’t worth your time. That’s something you won’t ever have to worry about when you’re with me.”

Speechless! No man had ever said those words to me before. If Matrix was bucking for the man of the year award, he was on the right track. He was definitely getting some ass tonight. The sensual fragrance of his cologne, his body in that suit and those sexy as fuck words had me wet all night long. I couldn’t wait to get him in my bed and see what he was working with. As he drove away from the restaurant, I kept watching him from the corner of my eye. The man was positively sinful. Handsome wasn’t even close to the word to describe him. No, Matrix was in his own category of fine. He was ‘Licksome’. So damn handsome you wanted to lick him.

I thought for sure he was either taking me back to his place or to the clubhouse so we could get naked, but he turned the car toward the river. When he parked and got out of the car, I was curious, but when he came to my side and opened the door for me, I was floored. Was he really about to, dare I say, be romantic and shit? It was unnecessary. I was a sure thing. All he had to do was undress me at this point, and he could have his way with me. Maybe his kink was to do it in public. I was down with that. Fuck yeah!

Meydad took my hand to help me out of the car but didn’t let it go. Was he going to take me against the car? So hot! I reached up, placing my free hand at the back of his neck, his free hand landing on my lower back. Leaning in, I planted a passionate kiss on his lips to let him know that I was ready for whatever. From past experience, men needed that silent permission to get things started. To my surprise and somewhat embarrassment, Meydad pulled out of my embrace. He stepped back, giving me a sweet smile before gently pulling me toward the water.

“Come with me, baby. I want to show you something.”

I followed him as he guided me toward the Riverwalk where other couples mingled, hugged, kissed and fell in love. It was a far cry from any other date I had ever had. I usually got the meal and then the sheets. No man had ever taken the time to seduce me. I had no idea what to do with the feelings that started rumbling around in my chest. It was all too much for me.

“Have you ever sat still long enough to watch the moon glisten on the water?”

Meydad’s baritone voice cut through the silence of the night, breaking through my self-loathing thoughts. I shook my head at him as he chuckled. He led me to an open bench near the water and sat me down on his lap. The man was so damn possessive it made no sense. I wasn’t his to claim, but he was claiming me all the same. A man like Matrix didn’t need to get mixed up with the likes of me. A quick fuck, yes. A relationship of any sort - no way in hell. This felt relationship adjacent, and I wanted no part of ruining this kind and surprisingly gentle man. I attempted to remove myself from his lap, but his grip tightened, holding me in place. What was happening?

“Matrix, what are you doing? Let me up?”

“I asked you to call me Meydad. I’ll let you up if that’s really what you want, but something tells me you want to be right where you are. Sharon, stop running from me and let me love you.”

“You don’t love me.”

“Not yet, but I have no doubt I could fall head over heels for you. You are the kind of woman a man wants to hold onto. Now, I just need to convince you of that, and we’ll be gravy.”

I relaxed into his hold and leaned back so the back of my head was resting on his shoulder. He snuggled me closer to him and sighed deeply. Did he mean what he said, or was this just another way for him to one-up Baby? I did not trust his words. Men lied. That’s what they did to get what they wanted.

“Are you for real? Don’t have me out her looking stupid in these streets.”

“Sharon, relax. You’ve known me for several years now. One thing I think I have proven is I say what I mean at all times. I don’t sugar coat shit.”

“Yeah, but men always talk sweet to get the draws and then ghost you afterwards. Is that what you and Baby are up to?”

“First off, don’t mention another man to me when I am with you like this. Second, we both know I could have had you in the elevator before taking you to the restaurant. I didn’t have to work this hard to get something that was already on the table. I took you out and treated you well because that’s who I am. It is what I wanted to do, and it’s what you needed. I’m just waiting for you to realize you deserve to be treated like the queen you are.”

“That may take a while. I’m still working through some things.”

“Don’t worry, darlin’. I’ve got a lifetime to wait.”

Oh my God! Who was this man, and where had he been all my life? Wetness flooded my panties, who gave their best impression of that wicked witch from the movie when the girl in the ruby slippers doused her with water. Melted!
