He and Derek got their own trays and sat with the lively bunch. They chattered about everything from what they were going to have for dessert to gossiping about people named Nanny J and Moses. Derek shut that one down pretty quickly, but there was a lot of giggling and knowing looks afterward.
“What are you ladies up to after lunch?” Derek asked.
Kyra yawned hugely.
“Looks like someone might need a nap,” Brock suggested.
“We had a really busy morning,” Sadie informed them.
Kyra laid her head against his shoulder. “Is it okay if I come back to the room now?”
It was way more than okay with him. In fact, he was elated that she was ready to come back, but he needed to be sure. “You don’t want to stay and have more fun with your friends?”
“We can get together again later if she needs a rest,” Sadie butted in.
“That sounds good.” Kyra nodded with another yawn.
“Okay then, little one. It’s nap time.” Brock scooped her into his arms, cradling her like a precious child.
“Bye, guys!” She waved as she snuggled into his chest.
Brock gave her a squeeze and then took her back to their suite, trying as hard as he could not to revel too much in the fact that he would get to spend some alone time with the beautiful, adorable, sassy, amazing girl he was getting a little too attached to.
