“I lost my dad three years ago.” His fingers continued to slide through my hair as he spoke. His eyes are fixated on something across the room. “It fucking sucked. He was murdered in broad daylight, and no one knew anything.” He shakes his head. “New Orleans PD didn’t have shit. Still don’t. I check in with Sheriff Denver every couple of months….”

I reach up and run my hand along his strong jaw. “I’m sorry. I can tell how much you loved him.”

“I did. He was a badass. He always put everyone before himself. My mom, me, this club. We’ve started looking into his murder ourselves. It just takes a lot of time and money.” He glances back at me. “I try my best to run this club like he wanted. I would never do anything to jeopardize what he built.”

Leaning into him I press a kiss to his lips. “He would be so proud of you.”

He brushes his thumb along my cheek as he quietly examines my face. “I don’t know what you're doing here with me.”

“What do you mean?” I ask.

"You are everything I’m not. You're so good, and pure.” His brows crease and he licks his lips. “I’m not the president when I’m with you. I can just….be.”

I smile at his confession. “I’m not perfect, Zeke. I have flaws too.”

“You're my perfect escape,” he whispers as I move my lips towards his.

He deepens the kiss as his tongue enters my mouth. His arms cling to my waist and I try to ignore the feeling in my heart. That feeling that gets stronger every time he walks through my bedroom door.

Zeke LeBlanc is more than he seems.

And it terrifies me.
