“Okay,” he finally says.

“Okay?” I ask. "That's it?" He nods. “Alright then, let's get you up to my place. I can get you settled in the spare room before I go downstairs to deal with everything else.”

We head up to my apartment through the side door of the club to avoid the crowd of people.

“As you can see, the kitchen’s here,” I say, pointing to the left as I flick on the light. “Living room. Down the hall is the bathroom and bedroom.” I toss my keys on the counter and turn to Sam. He takes in the room slowly.

“The fridge is fully stocked. Feel free to help yourself. There are clean towels and stuff in the hall closest. I don’t really have any guy clothes, but I do have a few oversize shirts that should fit you. And I find men boxers comfy, so I like to use them as sleep shorts; they should also fit you.”

I stand there awkwardly. No one but Evie has ever been in here. I don’t allow just anyone in my personal space; this is all so... new to me.

“You can stay in here,” I say, turning on the light to the guest room. It's nothing fancy, just a queen size bed with a black and white bed set. A side table with a lamp and a dresser. “There's extra blankets and pillows in the hall closest as well. You can take a shower if you want,” I say, heading back to the living room. A shower... Fuck that sounds amazing right about now. My hair is a wild mess, there's blood dried to my skin, and I smell like BO. Eww.

“I know you said you don't want to be alone. And I'd stay if I could, but I really do have to deal with everything,” I say, biting my lip, hoping he doesn't freak out.

“I understand,” he says, looking a little disappointed.

“I’ll lock the door when I leave. No one can get in but me or Evie, and I trust her with my life. If you turn on the TV, it should help with the silence.” I know this from experience. When I first started staying here alone, I hated the silence. It made me jumpy as fuck. Sleeping with a fan at night helped me close my eyes, and the TV helped my mind not to wander.

“Harlow,” Sam says softly. “Thank you. I owe you.”

“You owe me nothing,” I say, shaking my head.

“I owe you everything,” he says, before turning around and shutting the bathroom door behind him. I head to my own bathroom to take a quick shower before I head out to see how everything's going.

WHEN I GET DOWN TOthe club, the place is packed, but only with the girls. “Where did everyone else go?” I ask, wondering where all my men went.

“They wanted to give the girls some space. Plus, our girls wanted to check on them,” Roxy says, fixing me a drink. The woman knows me well.

“Queenie,” a voice comes from behind me. Turning around, I see Miller heading towards me. He's out of uniform. Probably a good idea.

“What's up, Milly?” I smirk. He rolls his eyes, but I see a slight smile forming on his lips.

“I wanted to go over a few things. Your girls are going to take these young ladies for the night. Let them clean up, eat, and rest properly before those who have homes to go back to face their families.”

“What are they going to tell them? What are you going to tell your boss?” I ask Miller.

“Don't worry, I'll come up with something. You won't be involved in this as far as anyone outside these girls and whoever works for you is concerned.”

I nod. “Good, let me know whatever cover story you're going with. So, how many have homes to go to?”

“All of them.”

“That's amazing,” I grin. I would have given any one of them a place here, but knowing they have people to go home to is even better.

Miller and I chat for a little longer. When he leaves, I realize that everyone else has left as well, with only a few of my girls sitting scattered around the club.

“What the...?” My brows furrow.

Roxy laughs. “Evie came and told me, while you were busy with Miller, she and the others were gonna get the girls settled in for the night. As for your guys, the asshole one and the silent one took the now drunk crazy one home.”

“What about Cass?” I ask.

“The sweetheart?” she grins. “I saw him going up to the roof not too long ago. Poor guy looks like a mess.”

Downing my drink, I head up to find Cass.
