He pecked my lips briefly, then spun to walk out of the pool area. When he passed Wells, I laughed when he slapped him on the ass. Wells jumped, so shocked by the move he didn’t even have a comeback.
When the door closed, I stood, collected my stunned husband, pulling him toward the changing room.
“You going to be okay?” I asked, chuckling.
“I honestly do not know how to take him.” He looked at me wide-eyed.
“I think he likes you, and if I know Nicco, he’ll help you find the part of you that you didn’t even know was hiding. He did that for me. Try not to be so scared.” As we walked, I laid my head on his shoulder, enjoying the softness he now showed me.
“It doesn’t bother you?”
“No, why would it?”
“I guess I just assumed you wouldn’t want us to mingle.”
“Surly.” I smiled, the name no longer being a barb but a loving endearment between us. “I love you all, and being with you five is the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t want you guys to go out and have sex with other women or men outside our family, but if there’s something within it between you guys, I’m not going to stop it. Besides, I fell in love with all of you. I hope you guys love one another as well, even if that’s not romantic with everyone. Now that we’re married, it’s kind of for life.”
I leaned up, kissing his face, and felt his body relax. He rested his forehead on mine, staring intently into my eyes. “Thanks, Kitten. I guess I needed to hear you say I wasn’t a freak, or I don’t know, that it wasn’t a bad thing.”
“It’s a wonderful thing.” I kissed him again but stopped, not wanting to get too carried away. We found lockers with our names on them containing new swimsuits in our sizes.
“I’m starting to wonder if that man sleeps,” Wells mumbled.
“Not very much,” I admitted. “He thinks of everything. One day, I hope he realizes how amazing he is.”
Wells pulled me into his arms, his bare skin hitting mine. “With you by his side, I have no doubt he will.”
Clasping our hands, we grabbed some towels and headed out to the bath. As we stepped into the water, the door opened, and two people entered. Looked like Nicco wasn’t done scheming for the day, and the bathwater wasn’t the only thing that was about to be hot and wet. At that thought, I realized I’d been hanging around Nicco too much. Oh well, there were worse things than bad, dirty jokes.
