“Thanks, I will.” Shaking my head, I shouldn’t have been surprised he was more concerned about his money, but if it got me his support, I wasn’t going to question it. Wells and Loren were waiting for me outside the courtroom, and they both rushed me. Loren hugged me tight, and even Wells gave me a good solid three-slap hug. It was the kiss on the cheek afterward that took me by surprise, a blush rising to the surface.
“I’m so happy for you, Monroe.”
“Me too. I’m glad it's finally over. And now, I’ll get Levi full-time. As much as I hated taking Brittni away from him, she had to be held responsible for her choices.”
“Hmm, I guess a wise person told you that?” Wells chided, giving me an all-knowing look, bumping his shoulder with mine.
“More like a wise-ass,” I teased. “Thank you guys for being here. I hadn’t expected it, but it gave me the last bit of confidence I needed. What are you up to now? Did you come together?” I asked, looking between the two.
“No, we just happened to be walking in around the same time,” Loren answered.
“She wishes,” Wells joked, causing Loren to roll her eyes playfully. “I know the perfect way to celebrate, though!”
“How’s that?”
“By watching Kitten get her first tattoo.”
