“Calm the fuck down. Tell us what’s wrong,” Bull soothed. We all sat down at one of the tables. The others drew closer and took seats.

“We got through the photos that were taken of the rebels you killed. We were able to trace them back to a group who has been working in that section of the country for the past several years. Only there was a problem. Not a single one of you had a picture of the man who calls himself, Jefe. He’s the leader of this group. Are you sure that photos were taken of every single man you killed?” Griffin asked.

“Positive. You told us to be sure and we were. Gabe, you ensured it happened at yours, right?” He nodded yes.

“Son of a bitch! We need to go get her. Now,” Anderson thundered.

“You think he’s going to come after her? Here in the States?” I asked him incredulously.

“Yeah, that’s the chatter we’re hearing as of this morning. We thought she was here with you. Otherwise, I’d have had her in protective custody as soon as she got back,” he snapped.

“You and I are going to have a talk, but first, let’s go get her,” I told Anderson as I stood up. A nervous throat clearing had me looking around. It was Jessica. I hadn’t heard her come in.

“She’s not at her house.”

“What? How do you know she’s not? Where is she?” I half-yelled.

“She called me this morning. I’ve been leaving her messages. She told me she was in Nashville with Leslie Clouse. You know, the wife of the doctor who was killed. She’s helping with the funeral.”

“She’s with his wife? Why in the hell would she be with the wife of the man she was having an affair with?” I asked her, stunned.

Anderson began to sputter. “What do you mean, the man she was having an affair with? She wasn’t having an affair with Ted Clouse!”

“Like hell she wasn’t. I heard her tell him she loved him when we rescued them. He was already dead, but she carried on like crazy. You don’t act like that unless you have feelings for someone.”

“Theodore Clouse was her mentor in medical school. She’s like a daughter to him and his wife, Leslie. They could never have children of their own. Damn, you sure got things all fucked up, don’t you? Let me guess, you accused her of this affair?” I slowly nodded. “Good luck then. We don’t have time to figure out your love life. We need to go get Zara. Let’s go.” He turned and headed to the door. I raced after him.

“Are you going to tell me how you know all this? And why do you know it?”

“Maybe later. Then again, maybe I’ll let you figure it out. Now, are you coming or staying?” I didn’t bother to answer. I followed him. Outside, they had a huge SUV with blacked-out windows and government plates waiting on them. I got in with them. Bull, Payne, Slash, and Maverick all ran to their bikes. I guess we were going to be in a convoy. As we raced toward Nashville, my mind was a whirling mess. I had so many questions and apparently not the right answers. But I knew one thing. It was time to get my ass in gear and get my woman back. No more feeling sorry or pissed off. Zara was coming home.
