Seven
Luci slams the door behind us, locking it before he turns to me.
“Don’t touch me,” I snarl at him as he shoves me back further into the hall, and out of earshot of Evi. “Nothing happened.”
“Nothing happened?” Luci growls. “You’re damn right nothing happenedbecauseI showed up. I knew you weren’t to be trusted around her. You were supposed to wait for me to get back before you began training.”
“And you were late, so I decided to start on my own.”
“It’s only ten past seven,” Luci shouts, whirling on me. “You couldn’t wait ten minutes?”
“You know patience has never been my strong suit,” I sneer.
“Damn it, Seven, I’m being serious. You know Dante specifically told us you weren’t to be alone with her.”
I roll my eyes at this.
“Yeah, I wonderwhythat is. I could smell him all over her. Whatever, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Like I said, nothinghappened.”
“Wait, what do you mean you could smell him on her?”
“Only that they must be getting a bit closer than he’d like us to believe during his so-called ‘training’ sessions.”
“You don’t mean …”
“No, he hasn’t fucked her yet, but let’s just say he may have tried choking her with more than just his hand last night,” I snort.
Luci lets out a sound of disgust at this.
“Where the hell is he anyway?”
“I don’t know, haven’t seen him all morning.”
He gives me a strange look.
“What do you mean you haven’t seen him all morning? You should have passed him in the hall.”
“Nope.”
“Come on,” Luci sighs, motioning for me to follow. “We need to find him.”
“What about Evi’s training?”
“I think she’s had more than enough of us for the moment, don’t you?”
I don’t answer as we walk through the halls, my mind going back to her.
“She knows my name, Luci,” I say after several minutes of silence.
“What? How?”
Luci turns his head to glare at me.
“I didn’t tell her, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“Dante isn’t going to like this,” Luci says, sighing in frustration.
