“I’ll put it on once we get there.” He caressed her cheek with his thumb. “You look stunning.”
Her hand smoothed down his lapel, flattened over his heart, and pushed until he took a step back. “We can’t do this.”
“Sorry, turquoise is my new favorite color.”
She gave his tamed hair, smooth jaw, tailored black suit, and silver-gray tie an admiring look. “Black is mine.”
He would never harass his little brother about his fashion sense again.
As she brushed past him, his nose followed the delicate scent of vanilla through the foyer and out of the front door.
It was going to be a long, hard night.
