“Get out!”

Grace rushed to her bedroom only to step back as Logan Hudson came flying through the door and smacked his head against the wood paneled wall. When his body slumped to the ground, Grace gritted her teeth at the dent his skull had left on the wall.

Lori Thomas, Grace’s roommate, stood at her bedroom door. Her eyes bristled with anger and her canines were showing.

Logan quickly got up and stormed down the corridor to the male students’ aisle.

Grace walked to Lori, mildly curious. “What happened this time?”

“He’s such a tool. He keeps pranking me with the silliest things. Today, he put spiders in the bathtub and hid inside our closet.”

Grace frowned. “That’s stupid and kind of perverted.”

“Right? I was about to take my clothes off when I saw the plastic creatures. Did he really think I can’t distinguish a fake spider from a real one?” Huffing, she pointed at the tattered clothes on her body. “Now look what I did to my clothes after almost shifting! He’s such a jerk. I can’t stand him.”

Grace stifled a laugh and entered her room. “He’s acting immature because he likes you.”

“There are better ways to show a girl that you’re into her. Pranking me and hiding inside a closet isn’t one of them.”

Grace nodded in agreement. “Still, have you thought about a way to get even with him?”

Lori smirked and closed the door behind her. “Of course, I did. I’m not letting him get away with this. He better sleep with his eyes open tonight.”

Grace sauntered to her bed and sat down. “I’ll be here, studying before training. Just shower in peace.”

“Thanks.”

Lori entered the bathroom, and Grace walked to the window and opened it to let the afternoon breeze in.

The air was slightly humid, and the breeze ruffled the leaves and carried the scent of foliage and burned wood. She loved the view of the garden and surrounding woods. No matter how many years she lived, she would never get tired of staring at the Delacroix property—a small haven in the Agarb Kingdom.
