CHAPTER SIX

Talon

I knew the question was coming but I still didn't know how to answer it. I could have kept it a secret and told her not to go into the closet. But I didn't want to deny her comfort, especially when she had gone through hell.

But how was I supposed to tell her I was a Daddy while staying unattached?

"Because the bikers of Hell's Renegades and I.... we're Daddies. We like our old ladies to be Littles-- like you."

She blushed beet red and I knew she knew exactly what I was talking about. The fact that she already knew she was a Little made this easier. "All of you are Daddies?"

"More or less," I said. "We didn't know it when the club formed, but as more of us took old ladies, it became clear there was a pattern. The stuffy in my office belongs to Ramona. She's the old lady of the former club president. I've only been there a week, so the office looks about the same as it did when Hawk was president."

"And the stuffies in your closet?"

"Those are for any Littles I take." I turned back to the food. "But you don't have to worry. I'm not going to be taking on anymore Littles. Not for a long time at least."

"Why not?"

I focused on plating the food. I kept an image of her terrified face in my mind. She was terrified of me. I had to remember that. It was the only thing that would keep me from going back on the oath I made myself. "Because I'm club president. As long as I'm president, I have a target on my back. And if I take a Little, then they will be in constant danger too."

I put a plate of food in front of her. "Here," I said. "Enjoy."

She started to pick up a piece of bacon, but she was still looking at me curiously. "But didn't you say the former president had a Little?"

"Yes, and he retired so he could spend more time with her. Besides, Hawk was better at protecting her. He was good at protecting all of us. I'm barely able to run the bar right now."

"It sounds lonely," she said.

I shrugged. "As long as it keeps people safe, then it's for the best." I turned away. "After breakfast, I want you to call out of work. I want you with me at Hawk's Landing until we straighten out the Demons."

She bit her lip. "How long do you think that will take?"

"I'm going to work on it today," I said. "Soon you'll be back to your normal life, just like usual."

Tina gave a hesitant smile as she hugged the teddy bear tighter to her chest. "Thank you." Her Little voice slipped out. God it sounded so sweet.

"Don't mention it," I said.

An hour later, we were ready to go to the bar. Tina was dressed in her diner uniform again and I realized she had no other clothes. We would have to make a pit stop first.

We biked through town to the first clothing store I found. We rocked up to the entrance.

"Why are we stopping?" Tina asked.

"Because you need a change of clothes. I'm not going to make you wear your uniform all day."

Panic flickered across her face. "I don't have any money," she said. "My wallet got burned up with my car."

"It's okay. It's on me."

"But--"

"No. You don't get to argue with me on this. Understand?" I raised my eyebrow, giving her my best Daddy expression. Was it fair? No. But I wasn't about to let her spend the entire day in a dirty waitressing uniform that left her arms and legs mostly bare.

She looked down, a small flush rising to her cheeks. "Yes, D... yes." she said meekly.

Fuck. She had almost called me Daddy. And it would have been amazing hearing her say that. "Let's go," I said, my voice a little hoarse with need.

We went into the store and she immediately went to the sales rack. I wanted to tell her to get anything she wanted and that it didn't have to be cheap. But I didn't know how. Not without sounding like a Daddy again.

She ended up picking out a cute pink dress. "Is this okay?" she asked, holding up the dress.

It was a pink dress trimmed in lace and with a heart shaped pocket on the skirt. She would look absolutely adorable in it and it was at least longer than her waitressing uniform. I nodded. "It's perfect. But you'll have to wear my jacket, okay? I don't want you getting cold."

She smiled softly. "That's okay. I like wearing your jacket. It's comfortable." She blushed and went to go stand in line.

Fuck. She was going to be the death of me.
