Letting go of Gage, I slid down his body while my cheeks flushed.
Gage just chuckled and pulled me into his body. “Guys, this is Conleigh. Her daughter is fighting leukemia and on top of that, she’s having surgery to have her appendix removed.”
It was then that I realized the man that had let me inside, Powers, was the President of the MC.
I met two more of his brothers, but right now, my mind wasn’t working to remember their names.
After a moment of silence, he asked, “Want me to take you back to the hospital? I know when she wakes up she will want to see you?”
I simply nodded. That would be nice. “Okay. Gonna go grab something, wait for me in your car. I’ll drive.”
So that was how Gage ended up driving my car back to the hospital as a prospect rode his bike over and a truck followed to take the prospect back.
And an hour later there he sat on the other side of her bed while Collins slowly opened her eyes.
It was then that her entire face lit up. “Gage?”
“Hey, Buttercup. Brought you something.” It was then that he grabbed the bag he had brought out of the clubhouse and laid it on her bed.
Opening the bag, he pulled out two sweatshirts, two short-sleeve shirts, and two long-sleeve shirts.
“My apprentice needs her gear, and you told me you wanted to match. So, I got your Mom some things too.”
The smile that lit her face. I could've kissed Gage right then and there.
Collins lifted from the bed slowly and wrapped Gage in a hug. I couldn’t hear what she whispered to him, but he nodded to whatever it was.
When they released each other, I asked, “And what was that?”
“Not telling ya,” Gage said with a wink.
