That’s why she constantly left people awestruck, they just never imagined everything that was behind the beautiful, sweet and soft exterior.

“Willow?”

“Yes?”

“The tickets for your show? I need two.”

“She’s already got her own.”

“I meant for me and Molly. Is she taking Pippa?”

“Well, no. I don’t think so.”

“Get me three and make sure they’re all together?”

“I’ll do you better and get a box with all the trimmings in it.”

“The girls will love that. Thanks.”

“You’ll just need to give them your name at the ticket kiosk.”

“Okay.”

“Jamie?”

“Yeah?”

“Don’t go crazy, she’s not the go big type.”

“I won’t, thanks.”

“Ok, well…hasta la vista bruder!” She chimed.

“You know that wasn’t one language, don’t you?”

“I like Sperman.”

“What?”

“Spanish and German.”

“That sounds a lot more bodily fluidy and nothing at all linguistic. You really are a stra

“I thought you’d forgotten.”

“That’d be impossible, Willow, the hours I sat watching that bloody show because of you, believe me, it’s something I’ll never forget.”

“You loved it.”

“Debatable and not at all. Thanks again, I’ll see you later.”

“Yeah, bye. Adios amigo!”

She was exhausting. She was like a Duracell bunny, constantly on the go. Non-stop. Having a phone conversation with her was more tiring than supervising a group of six-year olds on a playdate.

I tucked my phone into my lab coat pocket, picked up the stethoscope on my desk and headed out for my morning rounds. I had a meeting scheduled this afternoon with one of the Neurosurgeons I’d studied under to discuss the toddler’s case.
