I glance behind me and see him open a stool and set it down. He grabs a cup from under the sink and then has a seat behind me. As he turns the water on and fills the cup, I wonder what he’s doing, until he lifts it to my head and gently pours it over my hair, making sure none of it goes into my eyes, and that’s when it clicks; he’s washing my hair.

Unsure what to make of this, I just go with it, since it’s already happening.

“I could barely focus,” he adds. “They were talking numbers and I couldn’t keep up.” He takes the bottle of shampoo and squirts some into his palm, then goes about massaging my scalp. His strong hands thread through the strands of my hair while his fingers deftly massage every inch of my head, and I moan in pleasure, not caring that he can hear me.

“I just kept thinking about you, in my bed, in my home. I wondered if you stayed or left, and if you were here, I kept picturing you just like this, naked and in my bathtub, but my imagination didn’t do you justice.” He takes the cup and rinses out my hair. I tilt my head back, making it easier for him, thoroughly enjoying this surprise pampering.

When he’s done, he leans forward and presses a soft kiss to my shoulder, sending my heart racing. “I knew it,” he whispers into my ear. “The first time I saw you walk toward me, and now, seeing you in my bed, in my bath, it confirms it.”

“Confirms what?” I breathe.

He grasps my chin between his fingers and tilts my head to the side to look at him. “You’re the one… You’re meant to be mine.”

“Isaac…” I gasp. “I—” We’ve only just met, have barely been on a single date… How can he possibly know that?

“Shh… I know. It’s too soon to know that,” he says as if reading my mind. “But I do, and soon you will too.” His eyes land on my lips, and I know he’s going to kiss me. I should stop him. I hardly know him. Yet, I do nothing as his mouth comes down onto mine, his supple lips curling around my own.

His tongue pushes past my parted lips, and I find myself moaning into his mouth. He tastes like mint and bad decisions, and still, I have no intention of stopping wherever this is going. The kiss is soft and gentle yet filled with heat and promise.

Wanting more of him, I twist around so I can deepen the kiss. Water splashes around me, no doubt wetting the floor and probably Isaac, but neither of us cares enough to stop. His fingers grip the back of my nape tightly, possessively, as mine find the front of his shirt and pull him toward me, needing to be closer to him.

Isaac meets me halfway, kneeling while I lift onto my knees, ignoring the fact I’m completely naked and there’s no way the bubbles are covering me in this position. We kiss like this, tasting, coaxing, learning each other, until Isaac ends the kiss. His gaze sears into mine, filled with passion and hunger, but he makes no move to go any further, only staring at me as his chest rises and falls in quick succession. He’s affected as much as I am.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, wondering why he’s not still kissing me.

“Not a goddamned thing.” He presses his lips to mine one more time before he pulls back again. “Stay with me.”

“Tonight?”

“Tonight… tomorrow… forever.”

I giggle at how crazy he is, but he’s not laughing. “I can’t stay here forever.”

“Let’s start with tonight,” he says, placing a kiss to the corner of my mouth.

“Tonight,” I agree, completely mesmerized by him.

The most gorgeous grin spreads across his face, and my heart contracts behind my ribcage. The way he’s looking at me right now, like my spending the night is the sole reason for his happiness, makes me want to agree to anything he wants, just so I can see him smile at me like that over and over again.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

ISAAC

Camilla’s here. In my home, in my clothes, sitting on my couch looking through menus so we can decide what to order. When I got a call from my secretary that a contract I was waiting on was ready to be signed, and the owner was chomping at the bit to sign, I had no choice but to go in and handle it. It took everything in me to leave Camilla, but since it was after nine in the morning, I knew she was safe.

All morning, I wondered if she was still here, considered running up to check on her, but one thing led to another, and the next thing I knew it was after two in the afternoon. The first chance I got, I locked up the office and headed back upstairs, hoping like hell she was still here.
