“Fuck,” I whisper when we finally break apart. “Keep this up, and we won’t ever make it out of here.”
She brushes her swollen lips against mine. “Sounds like a good time, Cowboy.”
“Two people makin’ out in the maze!” I hear Knox yell from up above the bales. He volunteered to help watch the participants in the maze because some kids get scared. “Wait. I think it’s my cousin Kenzie and ranch hand Grayson Harding! Kenzie and Grayson standing in a maze, F-U—” he taunts.
“Shut up! I swear, you’re like a mosquito!” Kenzie shouts. I take her hand and lead her to the exit, laughing.
When we’re out in the open, she turns to me. “You were right. Knowing the design didn’t help at all.”
“Told ya, but I thought it was adorable you tryin’ to figure it out.”
We make a few more laps around the festival and pass the cakewalk and pumpkin carving booths. Once we’ve seen it all, Kenzie turns to me with a seductive smirk. “Let’s get the hell outta here and go back to your place.” She chews on her bottom lip. “I want you, no, need you, like right now.”
“What’s that saying again? Ahh yes, there’s no place like home,” I say as we head to the truck, not able to keep our mouths and hands off one another.
Chapter Twenty-One
MACKENZIE
“Mmm, baby. I know we’re about to eat Maize’s dessert buffet, but your tits are the best thing I’ll taste today.”
I snort, trying to keep my focus. “Please don’t say my sister’s name while you’re inside me.”
He chuckles in amusement as he circles my nipple with his tongue. It’s been seven weeks since we’ve officially been together, and we still can’t get enough of one another. My feelings for him get stronger every day, and having his support while I go through the process of becoming a foster parent makes me fall deeper and deeper.
“Speaking of which, we’re gonna be late, and my parents will know exactly why.” I tighten my arms around him as my thighs squeeze his waist.
Grayson got up early this morning so he’d be finished with his duties before my mom served lunch. I stayed in his bed and waited for him so we could show up together, but he basically jumped me in the shower as soon as he came home. Now he’s pinned me against the wall as the hot water turns cold.
“I can’t help myself, baby. I crave you all the goddamn time,” he murmurs in my ear as he wraps a hand around my throat and playfully squeezes. “I’m so in love with you.”
My eyes snap open, and my body tenses at those six words. He notices and looks at me.
“Shit, I’m sorry. Too soon?”
My mouth goes dry as I open my mouth to speak, but he beats me to it.
“Ya know what? I’m not sorry. I love you, and I won’t apologize for that.”
My heart flutters, and I can’t help the stupid grin that covers my face. “If you’d let me talk, I would’ve said, no, it’s not too soon because I’m so in love with you too.”
I’ve never said those words to someone I was dating before, and though it feels foreign, it feels so damn right when it comes to Grayson. In less than two months of being with him, we’re already planning our future. I have no doubt he’s the one for me. I thought about telling him those words weeks ago, but I chickened out.
“Oh, thank God.” His mouth crashes to mine as he continues thrusting and holding me to the wall. “Shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve been obsessed with you for quite some time.”
“Really? I hadn’t noticed,” I deadpan.
“Don’t sass me.” He nips my neck, then sets me on my feet. “Alright, baby. Bend over. I’ll make sweet love to you later, but right now, we’re runnin’ outta time.”
I giggle as I steady myself, then moments later, we moan out our releases. Grayson kisses me so passionately, I almost lose my footing.
By the time we get dressed, we’re already late. I quickly blow-dry my hair and put on some makeup before we rush out.
“Well, well, well…” Maize chastises me as soon as we walk in. “The lovebirds are finally here.”
“Relax. We’re eight minutes late.” I swoop Maddy up in my arms as soon as she comes for me. Mila Rose skips over next, begging Grayson to pick her up.
“Auntie Kenzie! Mommy has a baby in her tummy!” Maddy pats her own belly, and I laugh.
“No, she doesn’t.” I tickle under her arm, then glance at Maize, who’s giving eyes to Maddy. “Wait. Are you pregnant?”
Maize nods with a big smile. “Yeah, we found out a few weeks ago.”
“Oh my gosh!” I wrap my free arm around her and squeeze. “Congrats, that’s so exciting!”
“Yeah, thanks. We’re terrified of being outnumbered, though,” she explains. “But excited.”
