It should scare me out of my mind that I’m falling so fast, but there’s no fear.

There’s only now. Only Hana.

The kiss goes from exploring each other, to me claiming her. My teeth scrape, my lips soothe, and my tongue strokes until I’m drunk on the taste of her.

Again she whimpers, but this time I grin against her mouth. Placing my free hand behind her head, I keep her locked to me.

I dive deeper, my bites grow rougher, and I devour her until my lips begin to go numb from the friction. Only then do I break the kiss, and pressing my forehead against hers, I savor her breaths racing as she tries to suck in air.

Chuckling, I say, “You’re addictive.”

Hana lowers her hands to my chest, and then she presses her face into the crook of my neck. “I need a moment.”

I brush a hand up and down her back, and moving her hair away from her neck, I lower my head until my breath skims over her skin. I clench my jaw as I try to suppress the urge, but unable to, I sink my teeth into her soft flesh, and then I suck hard.

Her hands fist my shirt, and I feel her gasp against me. “God, Tristan,” she moans.

My tongue flicks over her skin and pulling back, I look at the red mark with intense satisfaction.

Mine.

Chapter 8

HANA

My. God.

I battle for air, and my heart is thundering in my chest.

The moment is so loaded, it scares me to hell and back while my body aches for more.

How can a kiss be so intense? Tristan kisses with… purpose.

Emotion pushes up my throat because I’ve never had anyone so focused on me before. It feels as if he’s aware of my every breath. Even my heartbeats – and every single beat matters to him.

I pull back and lift my eyes to his. Again, I lose my ability to breathe when I see the possessive expression tightening his features. His irises have a dark blue ring around them, making the light part look like shattered glass.

It feels like he’s about to tear me to pieces with his bare hands and teeth.

“There’s no backing out anymore,” he growls.

“It’s only been two days,” I say even though I know there’s no point in arguing.

His grip on me tightens, and instead of it scaring me, I feel safe. Treasured.

“We both know it’s been much longer than two days.”

Yes, we do.

“We’ll still take it slow?” I ask because I’m so not ready to sleep with him.

God, I need to get used to his kisses before I can even think of taking that step with him.

Tristan’s mouth curves into the sexy grin I’m beginning to love. “For now.”

Pulling myself free from his hold, I ask, “Hot chocolate?”

He shakes his head. “Coffee. No sugar. No cream.”

“Just black?” I ask to make sure.

“Like my soul,” he chuckles.

Shaking my head, I smile as I walk to the kitchen. It feels like I’m moving on a cloud.

I’ve had crushes before, but nothing compared to this. My stomach is constantly filled with flutters, and just thinking of Tristan makes my heart beat faster.

I prepare a coffee for Tristan and a hot chocolate for myself and then carry the cups to the living room.

After I’ve set his coffee on the side table next to him, my lips curve into a teasing smile as I go sit on the couch opposite from him.

Pulling my legs up, I curl against the armrest, and then I grin at Tristan as I take a sip of the warm liquid.

He watches me with a smirk. “Do you think you’re safe over there?”

I shake my head. “Let’s talk for a while.”

“What do you want to talk about?”

“What do you do in your spare time?” I ask, wanting to know more about him. Tristan picks up the cup of coffee, and I quickly warn him, “It’s hot.”

His eyes lock on mine as he takes a sip anyway.

I blink at him, thinking it has to burn like hell.

“I take my yacht out and just sail,” he answers my question.

“I’ve only been a couple of times,” I admit.

“We should go then,” Tristan offers.

Smiling, I agree, “I’d like that.”

“What do you do in your spare time?” he throws the question back at me.

“I spend it between my parents and Fallon. I don’t like going out to clubs.” I scrunch my nose. “All the noise is disorientating.”

“So you don’t go at all?”

I shake my head. “I’ll go once in a while with the group, but I prefer not to. I’d rather stay at home and watch movies or read a good book.”

“You’ll like sailing then,” Tristan says, looking pleased with my answer.

“Do you work regular hours?” I ask another question.

Tristan shakes his head. “Usually, I’m still at the office at this time of the day, but I made an exception tonight.”
