I broke the kiss, breathlessly. "Make love to me, Hugo,” I whispered against his lips.

He didn’t need to be told twice. If I had not been craving him as insanely as he was craving me, I would have laughed at the speed with which he discarded my nightshirt and his own clothes.

He let his hands, lips and tongue run all over my body. Kissing, licking and biting every curve, plane, peak and valley—some familiar, some quite new.

“I have to admit, I’m quite fond of these,” he marveled, cupping my breasts which seemed to be growing bigger every time I tried on a new bra.

He licked a nipple before sucking it into his mouth. I closed my eyes, arching my back, getting lost in the wicked pleasure his mouth could bring.

“Yep, definitely a fan,” he added and I could hear the smile in his voice before he started to give my other nipple the same attention.

After worshiping every part of my body and making me come twice, he settled between my legs and kept his eyes locked with mine as he entered me with a gentle slowness that almost drove me mad.

He made love to me softly, keeping his thrusts shallow and slow, but the feelings we'd just shared with him baring his soul to me made this moment all the more intimate.

He kept whispering in my ear how much I mattered, how good I made him feel, no longer masking his feelings, and I was lost at how my body reacted to his physical, emotional and verbal declarations, and trying to return it in every way possible.

After I came again, Hugo's thrusts turned deeper, harder and I craved it. He came shouting my name, his head thrown back in rapture, and it felt like this orgasm was so much more powerful as the walls around us had fully crumbled.

When he rolled off me, he pulled me to him, probably as reluctant as I was to end our special moment, and as he traced idle patterns over my lower back with his thumb, I fell asleep with my head on his shoulder and a small smile on my face, feeling all my muscles relaxed by the powerful orgasms Hugo had given me.

As my breathing deepened, I mentally thanked whoever wanted to listen for his epiphany as to why people actually craved and needed love. Why did they find it so addictive, so irresistible?

Now that he had let go of his fear and opened up to love, we could both hold each other, feeling completely and fully happy, ready to face a future that we knew little about.

Chapter 26

Hugo

“Stopfidgeting.”

I let go of my tie and met Ava’s eyes in the bedroom mirror.

“I’m not fidgeting—” I sighed and turned around. “Fine! I am.”

She walked to me, a small smile on her face. “You don’t have to be nervous,” she said, seeing right through me.

If felt like everything changed when I opened up to her a week before, as if I’d given her the code to decipher the Hugo St-John fucked-up puzzle.

It was probably just me changing, letting go of all pretenses and allowing myself to be myself with her, but it made me realize how exhausting it all used to be.

She reached up and unknotted my tie before pulling it off and discarding the blue silk on our bed.

“You’re meeting my parents, not the king! You don’t need a suit.”

“I know it’s not the king! I'd be much less nervous if it were.”

She rolled her eyes with a shake of her head. She thought I was joking—if only she knew.

“Then I’d be the one underdressed for the occasion.”

“You look stunning and I'd be proud to introduce you to the king, just as you are.” I grabbed her side braid and pulled on it gently.

She had settled for a pair of maternity jeans and a loose bright pink jumper that I had to admit looked mesmerizing on her skin… Truth be told, I found her mesmerizing in anything, but most of all when she wore nothing at all.

I didn’t like her hiding her small pregnant stomach. Seeing it, touching it… kissing it filled me with an utterly irrational pride knowing that our little boy was growing gently in there.

She’d said that she was not going to hide it for long; she just wanted us to talk with her parents about our new situation.
