He’s our mate. There is nothing wrong with what you are feeling, her tiger said.

Realistically, Allie knew what her animal said was true. Marc was their mate, and her need and want for him was nothing more than pure and raw animal instinct. The human part of her mind was holding her back.

“It’s a beautiful day,” she said, trying to pull her mind away from how badly she wanted him. She had to get her mind moving in another direction.

“I think I’m looking at someone far more beautiful than the weather.”

Marc was suddenly next to her. How he had moved so damn fast without her noticing was nothing short of amazing. Normally, she noticed everything. But her mind had been preoccupied with wanting to jump his bones.

Allie’s breath hitched in her throat as she turned to face Marc. His green eyes glowed with desire. She could only imagine that her eyes were doing the same. The heat from his body and his scent enveloped and overwhelmed her.

“You are my beautiful mate.” His voice was nothing more than a whisper.

“Yes,” she said, not wanting to deny whatever was going on between them. Even if she wanted to deny it, her body wouldn’t allow it. She was primed and ready to go despite just meeting him, but that was often the way things worked in their world.

Allie tried to fight that raw need … the instinct rode her hard, but she couldn’t. When it came down to it, she didn’t want to. She took a step closer to him. His warm breaths fanned across her face. Damn, his scent was intoxicating as hell.

He lifted his hand to her face and traced two fingers slowly over the side of her cheek, brushing a few stray hairs out of her face.

“So soft,” he breathed.

“Mmm,” she said, leaning into his touch. “So warm.” She sighed.

“Can I kiss you?” he asked.

“Yes.” Anticipation tore through her body. Allie hadn’t even thought of uttering the word no. She wanted his lips on hers … had been imagining those full lips on her since the moment she laid her eyes on him.

ALLIE

Before Allie could blink, Marc’s lips were on hers. His kiss was soft and tender, exploring every inch of her mouth. His fingers snaked through her hair, holding her tightly to him.

Her arms wrapped around his neck as his tongue met hers, and they began an intimate dance. Passion surged through her veins and headed straight to her core. His free hand worked a path down the small of her back to her ass, clenching her lower cheek in his grasp.

“Oh!” she moaned into his mouth, surprised by how the smallest of touches could set her off.

“I love this ass of yours,” he said in between kisses. He arched his hips against her, pressing his erection against her stomach.

“I … I,” she stammered.

“You don’t need to say anything, beautiful. Just tell me if you want me to stop.”

Her heart hammered against her ribs. It was do-or-die time. Did she want this to stop? Did she want his kisses and his touches to go away? That was all she had to ask herself.

God, no. She wanted more … all that he had to offer and then some. It had been so damn long since she had been with a man, and she had never been with someone she wanted with every fiber of her being.

“Don’t stop!” she moaned as he kissed a path down her neck and chest, stopping just above the material of her tank top.

His teeth scraped gently over the arches of her breasts, sending goosebumps racing across her skin.

“I want to taste you,” Marc said, his voice thick with lust.

As hard as it was for Allie to pull away, that was exactly what she did. Her limbs trembled, and her breaths were just as shaky.

“As much as I want to pull you into my tent and have my way with you, I think we should put the brakes on this for just a moment,” she said, motioning to the two of them. She sucked in a deep breath, clearing the sexual fog from her brain.

“What do you suggest we do instead?” he asked.
