“I will enjoy my time with Malcolm. But the yard work? Not so much.”

“Do you have a big yard or something?”

“I do.”

“Mine is medium-sized so it’s not too much to keep up with. My swimming pool actually takes more maintenance, but it’s worth it to me.”

“I have a pool too, and mine is also worth the maintenance. I enjoy the water.”

I looked over Zac’s unshaven face while debating whether or not to ask him the question that had just popped into my mind. I wasn’t sure how he’d take it but decided to ask him anyway.

“What would your sign happen to be?”

“My sign?”

“Yes. Your zodiac sign.”

“Oh, I’m a Taurus.”

“You’re an earth sign and the only sign in the zodiac that has the ability to touch another without using your hands. You use your eyes.”

“I do?”

“Yes—you do.”

“That’s interesting. I had no idea.”

“Another thing that’s interesting about a Taurus is they’re one of the most sensual signs. Water must feel that way to you. Sensual, soothing, calming and the like.”

The corners of Zac’s mouth curled up. “It does feel that way to me.”

“Same here.”

“Since you asked me what my sign is, you’ve gotta tell me what yours is.”

“I’m a Pisces.”

“A water sign.”

“Yes.”

“So where does your sign land on the sensual scale?”

“According to astrologers, people who are born under the sign of Pisces are the most sensualandpassionate.”

Zac glanced down at my lips again. “I see. Well, I will say that with you being a water sign, and the most sensual and passionate of the zodiac, it makes total sense for you to have a swimming pool and to also love the ocean as much as you do.”

Right then, Zac steered away from talking about the kind of sensuality and passion we both knew I was referring to. Yes, I was extremely passionate about my love for the ocean, and like Zac, water felt sensual to me. Whether it was trickling over my skin or I was completely immersed in it, it always felt like an aquatic heaven.

When it came to sensuality and passion in the sexual sense—the kind that I’d been talking to Zac about—I knew exactly how I used to be. It’d been a long time since that part of me had been ignited. A long time until now.

Standing here and looking up at this tall and extremely handsome man in his running attire, sweat shimmering on his tan skin, about a three-day scruff on his face, sparkling sky-blue eyes, and a bright white smile… Well, I could feel a deep stirring going on inside my body. It was a stirring that was wrong for me to be feeling and I was well aware of that fact. I couldn’t help myself, though. This illicit arousal that I was experiencing somehow felt invigorating to me, and all I wanted was to have this one little, sinful taste of it because I’d never tasted anything like it before in my life.

“My conversation with Bash last Friday,” I finally said.

“Yes. The back-and-forth bantering between you and him about the best beach destinations was fun to listen toandwatch.”

“I like Bash. How long have you been friends with him?”
