“Say it,” Evan commanded.
Eyes closed, she refused.
“Dammit. I’m too far gone already. Next time I’ll have you say it,” Evan ground out as he pumped into her still.
Then he did the thing she needed. A little pain with her pleasure, one hand dropped to her nipple and gave it another pinch and twist.
That was it. She flew over the edge and rode high on the waves of her second orgasm, barely registering how loud she was being as Evan pulsed inside of her, finding his own release. It took them both a minute to ease back down from their highs.
Evan panted as he pulled out of her. “You fucking undo me.” Bending down, he kissed her before pulling away and disappearing into the bathroom.
Kayla didn’t move, or more accurately, couldn’t move. Her limbs were like Jell-O, and she was too sated to care that she was still lying there naked a few seconds later when he returned from disposing of the condom.
He pulled the blanket down and scooped her into his arms, placing her on a pillow and pulling the covers up over her.
“Stay,” she heard herself beg.
“Just going to the other side of the bed,” Evan chuckled.
True to his word, he climbed in beside her and wrapped one arm over her waist. She relaxed even further as Evan pressed another kiss into her hair.
ChapterSixteen
Evan
Evan rolled over in the bed, finding it cold and empty. She’d left him here in her bed, and he immediately felt the stinging pain of loss.
He stood and hunted down his boxers and pants, slipping them on before going in search of her. There was no chance of a repeat unless she had a stash of condoms somewhere, which for some reason, he doubted. But he wanted to find her, be near her again.
She was in the kitchen, cooking if his nose wasn’t lying to him. Turning the corner, he spotted her, already up and dressed and cooking.
Coming up behind her, he kissed the top of her head as he pulled her in for a quick hug. “Good morning.”
Kayla jumped, squealed, and the spatula in her hand went flying. “You scared me!” She fussed, pulling away from him and picking the spatula up off the floor.
“That was definitely not my intent.” He took the spatula from her and carried it over to the sink to wash it. “I’ll finish your eggs. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
He should have thought about that, especially after last night. It hadn’t even been a whole day since that happened. Of course, she would be jumpy.
“I’ll finish them. You go sit down.” Kayla waved him off.
Still shirtless, Evan took a seat at the bar and watched her. Hopefully, she didn’t have plans today and he could run to the store and then spend the day with her. Work would wait; he didn’t have anything pressing that needed to be done today.
Kayla pulled two plates down and piled eggs on each before opening the oven and pulling out bacon. Then she turned and placed one in front of him before turning back for a fork.
“Enjoy,” she said.
She kept her gaze down, focused on her plate. It was quiet as they ate, and he could feel the tension building.
“About last night,” she started.
“Don’t regret it,” Evan pleaded.
“I’m not sure we should do that again.” Kayla said quietly, not looking up at him.
“What?” Evan choked out. “Why?” Then a thought popped in his head. “Was I too much? I mean, I thought you were into it, but I don’t have to—”
Kayla finally looked up at him. “No. You weren’t, I mean it wasn’t. Ugh. There was nothing wrong with it.”
