Sydney nods, dumbstruck.
“Wow, that’s different. I had no idea being an air marshal could be a hobby.”
I grin.
“Don’t get me wrong, honey. I’ve always wanted to work in law enforcement, but life took me in a different direction. Let’s just say being an air marshal was a childhood dream fulfilled. But what about you? How did you become a call girl?”
Sydney laughs.
“I have to say this conversation is pretty crazy because we’ve gone from hijacking to part-time law enforcement, and now to my professional background.”
I quirk a black brow at the pretty woman.
“Why, does no one else ask?”
She giggles.
“Theydefinitelydon’t ask. In fact, sometimes there’s hardly any conversation,” she says while shooting me a playful look.
I growl.
“Well, we’ll get to that, but tell me about yourself, Miss McGrath. I command it.”
The pretty brunette smiles again while leaning back against the couch cushions. Good, she’s comfortable, and I like it that way.
“Well, Mr. Trenton, after high school, I figured I’d go to college and try to find myself something meaningful to do. But when it came to college applications, let’s just say I fell down in a bad way.”
I arch a brow at her.
“You never applied?”
She shrugs.
“Sort of yeah. I realized that I was never going to get into the schools I wanted to attend. I mean, my grades were decent, but not the best, so I was looking at some lower-tier universities that cost an arm and a leg. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that these schools are bad,” she says quickly. “I just couldn’t imagine asking my family to pay for them.”
I nod slowly.
“That’s smart. I don’t think a lot of kids even think about that.”
Sydney nods slowly.
“Well, it took a while for me to realize too. I genuinely thought I was going to go to college, but yeah, the application process was eye-opening because you learn so much, and I didn’t follow through with it. So after graduation, I started applying for jobs. I applied for a ton of openings – secretarial positions, waitressing, housekeeping, and pretty much anything you can imagine that doesn’t require a college degree.”
I nod.
“And?”
She shrugs.
“I just wasn’t getting hired. Then I ended up coming across Club Z, and the rest was history. I was hired almost immediately and even more surprising, I really like it. I know it’s slutty to admit, but I love pleasing men and providing them with the girlfriend experience. Does that make me a bad person?”
I shake my head.
“No, it just means you’ve found something you’re good at, and that’s worth a lot, honey. A lot of people go through life hating their jobs, but it sounds like you found one that’s a good fit straightaway.”
She blushes a little.
“Oh good. I’m glad you’re not judging me, Mr. Trenton.”
