Her head jerked around when the office door opened, but she relaxed when Mack walked in.
“Go see him. He’s probably freaking out,” Jace said.
She nodded, raced to Mack, and jumped, knowing he would catch her.

Jace watched her go. He was absolutely furious that someone would threaten his woman, and it was taking everything in him to hide it from her and the girls. He picked up his phone and called the building manager to see if they could get a picture of the guy on one of the cameras.
Within five minutes, Kane and a few cops came in and walked over to his desk. He explained what had happened.
One of the officers pulled out a pad of paper and a pen. “Ladies, my name is Brody. Do you think you can describe the man for me?”
“He was really tall,” Emma said.
“No, he wasn’t,” Larkin said. “He was under six feet tall.”
“Are you sure, Larkin?” Emma said? “He looked taller than that to me.”
“Me, too,” Ava said.
“He had black hair and beady eyes,” Sienna said.
“No, he didn’t,” Faith said. “It was light-brown hair and light-blue eyes.”
“No, I didn’t see his eyes, but he was a bad man, and they all have dark beady eyes,” Sienna said.
Jace put a hand over his mouth to hide his smile at the dismay on Brody’s face. He almost cringed when the cop asked them for a description because he knew this would happen.
The girls went on for another ten minutes before Kane whistled to get their attention. “Girls, how about we go and give them time to talk to Kaylin?”
The girls hugged Kaylin before Kane shuffled them out of the office.
Jace looked over to see Kaylin climb onto Mack’s lap and rest her head on his shoulder.
“How is she doing?” he asked Mack.
“Good. Just tired.”
Jace nodded. “Go ahead and ask your questions.”
“Can we use another office?”
Jace shook his head. “No, we’ll all stay in here.” He could tell the cop was frustrated, but there was no way in hell they’d leave her alone.
“Miss, what’s your name?”
“It’s Kaylin Spencer.”
“How old are you?” the cop asked.
“Twenty-two.”
“What is your job in the office?”
“She doesn’t have a job. We won’t allow it,” Jace said.
The cops looked at each other and then back at him.
