The guy cursed. “I’ll get you eventually.” He pushed through the girls and out the door.
Her friends ran and surrounded her. “I’m so glad you guys came. That man scared the bejeezus out of me,” Kaylin said.
“He did me, too,” Ava said. “What was he doing?”
“He came in, and I thought he wanted to talk to one of the men, but he smiled when he saw me. He wanted to take me with him to meet a friend.”
“Oh, God,” Sienna said.
“I wish Nia were here, she could have shot him,” Sienna said.
“She doesn’t carry a gun around with her, does she?” Kaylin asked.
Sienna grinned. “No, but I think she should.”
The girls giggled.
“What should we do?” Emma asked.
“Let’s lock the door until one of her men come,” Faith said.
The girls sat on the chairs, talking in the outer office. The door rattled, and they all screamed.
“Babe, open the door.”
She ran and unlocked the door letting Jace in before she flew into his arms.
“What’s going on?” Jace asked.
“A man was here and threatened Kaylin.”
“Whoa, wait. Let’s all go into my office.”
His arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
“Girls, sit anywhere. I’m going to call one of your daddies. Which one was coming to get you later?”
“Mine,” Sienna said.
“Okay. Let me get in touch with Kane first.”
He pulled her onto his lap and pressed his lips against the side of her head before he made some calls. “We’ll get this figured out.”
“I know.”
She rested against him as he talked.
“Okay, now tell me everything.”
Kaylin went over how the man walked in and the things he said.
“He acted like he was going to take me away, but I don’t know how he would have been able to do that. There are other offices in the building.”
“Yes, I’ve thought of that, but there are always ways.”
Kaylin looked over at the girls. “I’m sorry about this.”
“It’s not your fault. I’m just glad we walked in when we did,” Ava said.
