“You’re right, which is why you’re going to help us take him down. Unlike Dante, I’m not in the business of hurting innocent people. We need someone on the inside who can help us get information to present to Gio. We already know he’s shady from his dealings with Leonardo Dominguez, but we need more,” Eli explained.
“That sounds great and all, and believe me, I’ve thought of a million ways to kill my father. But I don’t want to be involved with this shit anymore,” I pleaded, sounding more desperate than I intended. “And you can threaten me all you want. We already know you tried to kill Bobby and I’m probably next but–”
“Bobby Moretti? We didn’t try to kill him. Is that what Dante’s been saying?” Eli scowled and some of the guys in the room mumbled amongst themselves.
“Well…not explicitly, but it’s been implied. That’s what we’ve all heard.”
“Like I said, wedon’thurt innocent people. And if we want to kill someone, we would get the job done, not half-ass it like Dante did.”
“You’re saying my dad was the one who caused Bobby’s accident?”
“I’m sure he didn’t do it himself, but who else would want to take out the heir to the throne? He knows Kane isn’t up for the task–too much of a loose cannon. Bobby would’ve taken over and put a bullet in Dante’s head for all the shit he’s done.”
“Okay, hold up.” I inhaled a deep breath before continuing. “How do you know so much about us? About me?”
The door swung open and a man walked in. He looked similar to Eli–older, handsome, dark blue eyes and a scowl on his face. His eyes lit up once they landed on me.
“Jesus, get the fucking cuffs off her!” The man barked and Finn obeyed promptly. I noted that Finn’s cut had aProspectpatch, so basically he was their bitch, doing all the menial tasks around the clubhouse and probably elsewhere.
Two more men walked through the door, and I smirked when I realized I recognized them. Even though I was freed from my shackles, I stayed in the uncomfortable chair and crossed one leg over the other.
“Hey strangers,” I smiled at the guys I met at Ethereal when they came to find Ashtyn. One of them was her brother.
I guess I should’ve put it together that night that they were Sinners, but I was preoccupied with the perverted teacher we were dealing with.
“Did you miss us?” The blonde one–Beck–asked with a sly grin. Dude was a huge flirt and an absolute psychopath. My favorite combination.
“I haven’t been able to think of anything but you,” I deadpanned.
“You’ve already met Remington and Beck?” Eli asked.
“Dani helped rescue Ashtyn from that sick fuck who was trying to buy her at the club,” Remington explained. “That’s how we know her. All of thisKillershit is news to us.”
“I can never repay you for helping my daughter,” the guy standing next to Eli said. Eli patted his shoulder. “I’m Rand. Ashtyn’s dad.”
“Nice to meet you?” I said as a question. I was confused as to why all these bikers needed me. My head was spinning with questions.
“Fuck, you look so much like her,” Rand said.
“I know. Spitting image,” Eli added.
I glanced between both of them waiting for a response.
“You asked why we know so much about you,” Eli began. “We’ve tried to keep an eye on you the best we can ever since your mom passed. She was…important to us–Rand and me.”
“Important…”
“We were in a relationship in high school–the three of us–back before it was cool,” Eli chuckled. “Once your mom turned eighteen, her dad married her off to your father and that was it.”
Mom was in a…throuple? With these two fine men? Damn, Mom. You were just out there living your best life.
“So you don’t just want to take my dad down for the power, money, and territory to be gained?”
“We want to destroy him for what he did to Ivy. And for what he’s done to you,” Eli said, his voice thick with emotion.
I looked down at my lap and let out a breath. Fuck, I needed a drink and some of Theo’s weed. Maybe a xanny from Xavier. Tonight was too fucking much for my sober brain to handle.
“We think that he killed her. Fuck that, weknowhe did. She wouldn’t leave you and Dominic,” Rand said as he paced the room. “If we were to kill Dante without evidence of his betrayal, we’d have a war on our hands with Gio. We need solid proof of what he’s doing. We think he’s working to pit Gio against us. He wants to wipe out every single Moretti and blame the Sinners for it.”
