I was an independent bitch. I liked being in control, but I’d be lying if I said the thought of getting tossed around by Kane didn’t intrigue me a little.

A lot.

“Deal.”

Chapter 2

Kane

Theclubwaspacked.

Even for a Friday night, the place was busier than usual. Ethereal drew in crowds from all over–it was the hottest club in a fifty-mile radius, if not more. It was better than anything else in Castle Grove, not that it was difficult to achieve that status.

It was a dark, towering building located downtown. Taller than all the buildings surrounding it. Everything on the outside was black–the bricks, the windows, the doors. That was part of the allure–keep it mysterious and make people want to come in and see what all the fuss was about.

Inside there were two floors for entertainment. On the main level was a stage where people and bands could sign up for slots to perform. We also did an open mic night, where people would sing covers for the crowd. There was a dance floor and a bar that extended the length of the room, and exclusive VIP booths that were booked months in advance.

And then there was the second floor. That was where things got a little crazy. It was our biggest moneymaker because only the clients with money were allowed up there. The dancers that worked for us made a lot of money swinging on poles and twerking in cages–but that was just for show.

We really used it as a way to access the men we needed. Dad came up with the idea a few years ago so we could conduct business meetings without making it known that we were…conducting business meetings. He also took care of hisassociates, making sure they were nice and comfortable with us, creating a false sense of security.

It worked pretty damn well.

It also brought in a ton of money and provided a cover for our less legal ventures.

Bypassing the massive crowd that started at the door and wrapped down around the block, I pulled my Range Rover into the employee parking lot and walked to the back entrance. The door was surrounded by guards–sort of a necessity in my father’s line of work. He had a lot of enemies, which meant we always had to stay vigil no matter if we were at home or at work. Security had been ramped up ten-fold after Bobby was ran off the road earlier this year. Dad was paranoid that whoever did it was out to get the rest of his kids.

Theo and Noah were meeting me here later–it was only eight o’clock–so I had some time to burn. I went to the private elevator and took it to the third floor where we had apartments set up for our employees.

Going to Dani’s place–the one she shared with her brother–was as natural as walking or sleeping, I’d done it so many times. She used the apartment when she worked downstairs or when she needed to get away from her dad, Dante Dutton, which was getting more frequent lately. Dominic used it when he was on jobs or needed a place to shower the blood off his body. He was a fighter, so that happened often.

One Step Closerby Linkin Park pulsed through the solid door and thick walls, so I knew she was in a mood prepping for the job she had tonight. She hated what she did, but we all had our jobs to do, and she was really fucking good at hers.

I let myself in with my key–the one I copied when she was passed out at my house after a rager–and shut the door behind me, not worrying about making noise when it closed. I could barely hear myself think around the throaty screams of Chester Bennington.

Dad had the entire building remodeled when he bought it. He made the third floor into apartments–each had an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining area, and living room meshing into one. This unit had two bedrooms–one for each Dutton sibling.

“You could at least knock before using your key!” Dani shouted over the music, putting her hands on her hips.

I went to the Bluetooth speaker on the kitchen island and turned it down a few notches, ignoring the fact that she was standing in her living room wearing a black lacy corset, panties, and fishnet stockings. Her body was criminal and it pissed me off that men would be looking at her wearing practically nothing. That was part of the deal though.

She had to make it believable that she worked here–that she was just a dancer. People would get suspicious if they never saw her on stage.

“You look hot.” I leaned against the marble counter and didn’t hide the fact that I was checking her out.

It wasn’t like I hadn’t noticed her before, but something was different lately. I found myself getting hard anytime I was in her presence and watching her dance on stage for gross old men had become painful.

“You know I hate that.”

“It’s true though.”

“It’s lingerie. An ogre would look hot in it.”

I clenched my jaw as she went back to her makeup. She had a vanity in the living room with all kinds of makeup and hair shit, and an oversized mirror with lights surrounding it. She leaned over the table to get a closer look, still trying to hide that hickey I gave her earlier, and her round ass peeked out the bottom of her panties. My cock thickened in my jeans as I thought about taking a handful, remembering how tight her pussy clenched around my fingers earlier.

“You here to give me my marching orders, Kane? Spit it out. Who am I seducing tonight?”

“Marco Sanchez. He’s one of Leonardo Dominguez’s guys. Dude’s been poking around for a few weeks, messing with some of the dancers. Your dad’s ready to take care of the issue.”
