The next day was more of the same. Sometime during the night, Heath had snuck into bed with Reid and me. I awoke that morning sandwiched in between my two guys. They both woke with me and made love to me. Reid held me down while Heath showed me exactly how much he missed me the night before. They both took turns making me come with their mouths, fingers, and cocks until Reid begrudgingly had to go to work. He had left me in Heath’s arms with the promise he would see me that night. His kiss held all sorts of promise.

Heath didn’t have to be at the bar until right before opening today, so he lazed around with me all morning. We got up and showered together, an act that I was becoming very accustomed to. The feeling of our wet bodies sliding together under the hot spray was quickly becoming something I craved. He had slipped the plug back into me in the shower with instructions that I was not to take it out until he left for work. He wanted me ready to take both of them by next week, and the only way to do that was with practice. He rewarded me for taking the plug so nicely with his wicked mouth.

After we dried and dressed, Heath led me to the living room where he sat me down and handed me the manuscript I needed to read today. It took me a couple of positions to find the perfect one to accommodate the plug, but once I found the right one, I relaxed into the feeling. He then made breakfast for us both and we ate and enjoyed each other’s company.

I sat with my feet in his lap, reading, while he worked on his laptop and made calls to his vendors. It was so comfortable to just be around him, I hadn’t even noticed the hours that slipped past us. Before I knew it, he was kissing me goodbye with the promise that he would see me in time for dinner tonight.

The rest of the day slid by in a haze as I immersed myself in Emily’s book. The woman truly knew how to paint a picture. I finished the script shortly after four in the afternoon. After making some notes about both books, I decided it was time to see what I could make the boys for supper. After inspecting my fridge, I came to the conclusion that I needed to go to the store.

Grabbing my keys and purse, I headed out, going through my mental list of things I needed on the drive there. I had decided to make them my famous, by my daughter’s accounts, chicken alfredo.

Once I found a good parking spot, I climbed out of the car and headed inside. I had almost made it to the doors when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I got the same strange feeling I got the day before like someone was watching me.

Turning to survey the parking lot, I didn’t see anyone I knew. I even bent down to see if I could see inside some of the parked cars. Still not seeing anyone, I rushed inside to get around other people. I tried to tell myself that I was being ridiculous, but I just couldn’t shake the feeling.

I wondered briefly if maybe Tom was behind this. I hadn’t heard anything from him since I filed the restraining order against him, but that didn’t mean he had forgotten about me. I decided I would do a little digging when I got home. It was time I figured out what was going on with him.

I went about my business of getting everything I needed for alfredo, as well as picking up some essentials. When I got all checked out and headed to my car, I didn’t have the same feeling I did earlier.

I called my lawyer on the way back home to make sure she had served Tom his papers. She confirmed that they were indeed served. Thanking her, I put my phone away and drove the rest of the way home.

I briefly thought about telling the boys about what I had felt yesterday and today but decided against it. They would probably just worry and that helped no one. Besides, I was probably imagining things.

Once I made it home and unloaded my food, I sat on the couch with my laptop, starting my search. After typing Tom’s full name into my search browser, multiple links popped up. The top one was his dealership website. Clicking on it, I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. There were the usual car listings and videos with his cheesy smile on his face.

I clicked on one of the videos and watched the infomercial highlighting his new inventory. He looked like what you would think a sleazy car salesman would look like. Even going so far as to hire bikini models to hold up his “sold” signs. He went on about his thirty-point inspection and how his cars were the best deal around. I rolled my eyes when he mentioned his top-notch customer service. I had met his “first-class” employees and seen his one-of-a-kind cars. I wasn’t impressed.

Tom had always prided himself on finding junk cars, slapping a Band-Aid on them, and then selling them for a marked-up price. His employees were just as bad as he was too.

I remember when his dad owned the dealership. It was a better place to shop for a reliable car when Big Tom owned it. Unfortunately, when he passed, so did his way of doing business.

I felt my eyes widen at the end of the video when it changed into a wide pan of the entire car lot with Tom and Vivian standing side by side in the middle of it all. The last time I had seen Vivian she was bent over Tom’s desk, ass naked. Looking at her now, it looked like she had some work done. Her breasts were considerably bigger than they were a few months ago and her face looked like it was stuck in a permanent smile. I cringed. Botox was a scary thing.

I wondered if Tom had bankrolled those enhancements. I knew what he paid his employees, and it certainly wasn’t enough to cover plastic surgery. I would bet that left a bitter taste in his mouth after she left him for a different man. Karma sure was a bitch, although she had a wicked sense of humor.

Backing out of the website, I scrolled a little longer until I saw a news article that piqued my interest. The picture was of Tom, but it was actually a mugshot. I felt my jaw drop as I scrolled and read the article.

Local business owner charged on multiple counts of fraud, to be seen in court this month. Owner of Tom’s Used Auto, Thomas Hart, involved in falsifying car titles sold at business, may be facing years in federal prison for crimes committed. Court date is set for Monday, April 17th. More on court proceedings to follow.

“Holy shit,” I mumbled behind my hand. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I had always known Tom stretched the truth when selling his vehicles, but I never would have guessed he was doing anything illegal. He must have posted bail, but he was obviously going against the whole suggestion about not leaving the state.

When Tom came to my door the other night, he was so drunk he could hardly stand. This would surely explain his need to drink. If Vivian truly did leave him for another man, then he would really have nothing else to lose. The whole thing made me wonder if he felt I owed him something. His life seemed to be falling apart, and it had started when I left him. A shiver ran up my spine at the thought of him taking his unfortunate luck out on me.

Hitting the back button, I searched for more on the case. Before I could get too far, the lock on my door jiggled. My breath caught in my throat before I slammed the computer shut and jumped off the couch.

Had Tom come to finish what he started the other night? Staring at the door, I wondered if I should call the police or try to find something to defend myself with. Just as I was thinking of making a run for my bedroom, where I could barricade myself in and call the cops, the door opened. I bit back my scream as Reid walked through the door.

I released my breath in a rush and practically ran into his arms. His breath left him in a huff with the force I hit him with.

“Well, that’s one way to welcome me home.” He pulled away long enough to look at me. “Are you okay, Kate? You look a little pale, are you going to be sick?” he asked, concern written all over his face.

I looked up at him and opened my mouth to tell him what I had discovered but stopped myself with a shake of my head. I had barely even started to date these men and I was already going to bombard them with my problems? I didn’t want to scare them off so soon. It was bad enough Reid already had to defend me from my ex, he didn’t need to hear any more of my drama.

Reid was staring at me now, searching my face for an answer. “What is it, bunny?”

I looked at his chest and then back up to his face, trying to give what I hoped looked like a brilliant smile. “I just— I wasn’t expecting you back so soon and you scared me. I was going to have supper waiting when you guys got home, and I must have lost track of time.”

He was still looking at me skeptically like he didn’t quite believe me. I pushed up to kiss him, trying to get him to leave it alone. I felt him holding himself back for a beat like he was still going to push the issue. I swiped my tongue along his lip, silently begging for him to drop it.
