“Lilith’s serum,” Landon squealed, tossing his back and wiping the back of his mouth.

I’d heard of the substance but never tried it myself. One shot glass was enough to make the drinker feel drunk and high, with no adverse effects. All the good stuff and none of the spiraling, vomiting or hangovers. The catch? It forced the drinker to be truthful.

“Who do you love more, me or Reeve?” I asked quickly and Landon’s lips moved against his will.

“You,” he blurted out and then gasped. He shot me a glare. “That was rude. Don’t forget I know all your secrets.”

Giving him a smug smile, I drank mine down. I was ready for a bit of fun. Reeve reached over and grabbed my glass, having drunk his as well. Our fingers grazed slightly, and a tiny zing of lust jolted through my body.

“I don’t blame you for preferring Allera. She’s got much more to offer than me. Shall I expect an engagement sometime soon?” He smiled, but it was strained.

Landon and I burst out laughing. I bent over and howled, slapping my thighs.

“Are you being serious?” Landon cackled, wiping tears from his eyes. “Allera is top shelf, grade A sweetness, but I don’t swing that way. Did you not know that?”

Reeve spluttered, shaking his head.

“But you touch her all the time. I thought you must be into her.”

“Ugh, how ridiculous of you to assume we must be fucking because we touch. I liked to be touched. I’m a succubus! If you didn’t drive me up the wall so much, I’d wrap myself around you, too.”

I slapped my hand over my mouth at my sudden admittance. Something wildly attracted me to Reeve, but I didn’t want him to know that. He seemed to show interest but never made a move. I thought I was imagining the charged energy between us. Reeve licked his lips, his gaze sweeping over me. A surge of lust wrapped around me like an embrace.

Landon waved his hands.

“No! No eye fucking allowed. Keep your hands off my bestie, Reeve. I don’t want her turning into another one of your obsessed fans.”

Rolling my eyes, I snorted.

“I don’t fawn over any man. No matter how gorgeously unhinged they are.”

Reeve quirked a smile. I thought he was going to ask me something else. I hoped he might, but he bit his tongue as he looked at me for a moment, head tilted slightly.

“You are unlike anyone I’ve met. It’s refreshing. I’m sorry if my comment about succubi being spoiled offended you earlier. I admit I spoke without thinking. We should do more to protect your kind.”

I cradled my head in my hands, feeling deliciously languid.

“I want to open a sanctuary, you know.” I revealed the desire I’d held deep down. “A place that succubi and incubi could come and have protection. To learn how to control their nature and skills to keep them safe.”

“No place like that exists?” Reeve’s voice was husky.

“Not that I know of.” I was wistful. “I’d make it like a resort, an orgy hotel we could fill with lust for each other. Not beholden to anyone’s demands or shackles.”

“What would it look like?” he prompted.

“I love Greece. I’d want it white, with columns and marble and murals. Oh, and a pool, obviously.” I waved a dismissive hand. “That’ll never happen, though.”

“It sounds amazing. Dibs on first orgy!” Landon interjected.

As the night devolved, I forgot about confessing my desires. Reeve and I had another argument so passionate that Landon made him leave. It had always been this way between us, but with each argument, I came closer and closer to shutting him up with my mouth. I don’t know what held me back. The delicious tension was sometimes too much to bear. I needed to keep my distance from this man, because I knew that once I got a taste, I’d probably fall for him and never let go.

Could he say the same?

She looked at me with appraising eyes, taking in my flannel pajamas.
