“How did you manage to ditch Henry?” Hadley asked.

“He listens when I give him orders.”

Hadley scoffed. “You snuck out.”

“Yeah.”

After a twenty-minute drive, Bennett pulled onto a Shoreditch street and found a parking space. He turned off the engine, then craned his head to look across the street at the row of terrace houses.

“This is Ajay’s place?” she asked.

His jaw was tight. “Yeah, the one with the red door.”

Hadley pulled out her phone. “Kitty must be a hell of a lay to seduce all these young men.”

He grunted. “She’s experienced, and she’s taking advantage of naïve, inexperienced people. Hell, I almost didn’t hire Ajay because he was so shy and anxious. As far as I know, he’s never had a girlfriend.”

“That’s her car.” Hadley nodded at the silver Mercedes across the street. She tapped on her phone. “I’m accessing the bug. We should be in range.”

Voices came through the phone.

“Oh, baby, is this all for me?” Kitty’s breathless voice. “You’resohard.”

A low moan sounded.

Hadley pulled a face. “Ew.”

“That’s it, baby.” Kitty made some husky noises. Then came the sounds of slapping skin.

Bennett winced.

Hadley met his gaze and pulled a face. He tried not to laugh.

“I love it from behind. Faster, baby.”

Hadley slapped a hand over her face. “There goes doggy style for a while.Ugh.”

Bennett leaned over and cupped her jaw. “I bet I could change your mind.”

She smiled as the cries coming through the phone increased. “Do not try to be charming and seductive right now, Knightley.”

The sex sounds reached a crescendo. Bennett winced again.

“Thanks, baby,” Kitty said breathlessly. “I needed that. You aresogood.”

“Kitty.” Ajay’s voice sounded like he’d just run a marathon. “I love being with you.”

Bennett heard the infatuation.

He wanted to strangle Kitty Wentworth.

“Now, are you ready for the job I mentioned?” Kitty asked.

Silence for a beat. “I’m not sure—”

“Baby.” The sound of kissing. “This is important. You’re doing the right thing. Don’t forget that.”

“But Secura—”
