She made herself walk out the door.

“Damn.” Her voice was shaky as she stalked through the quiet office.

She’d always known Bennett was dangerous.

She was only now realizing just how much.

CHAPTEREIGHT

Walking into the Secura office the next day, Hadley refused to admit that she felt much more relaxed.

There was nothing like a world-class orgasm, then watching a big, strong man find his pleasure thanks to you, to loosen you up.

“Morning, Halle.” Jack strolled past with a wave.

Hadley waved back. She wasn’t quite sure how to play things today with Bennett.

Thanks for making me come on your desk.

No.

Thanks for letting me suck on your big cock.

She snorted.

A man coming out of one of the meeting rooms heard her, and eyed her with surprise.

She shot him a serene smile and kept walking.

Maybe they’d just pretend it didn’t happen.

Her stomach roiled. A part of her hated the idea of him looking at her blank faced, like he’d never touched her.

Another part of her was just plain terrified. Bennett Knightley was getting to places she hadn’t let anyone, ever.

She dragged in a breath. She had an arms dealer to catch. That’s what she should be focused on.

She turned a corner and saw Bennett standing at Maudie’s desk, telling his assistant something.

It was like a punch to the belly. His shirt was tucked into his lean waist. It was white today, which set off his tanned skin. How the hell was he so tanned? He should be pasty white, like all good Brits in the winter.

Her gaze ran over his clean-shaven jaw. The five o’clock shadow would be back by the afternoon.Oh, God. Why was he so delicious?

She felt a pulse between her legs. Her gaze dropped to his hand where he was holding a file. She stared at those long fingers. She could still feel them on her, in her…

Suddenly, his head shot up and his gaze locked on hers. He dropped the file on Maudie’s desk with a slap and stalked toward Hadley.

“Hey!” Maudie grumbled. “We aren’t finished.”

Bennett ignored her. “Halle, I need a word.”

His fingers wrapped around her arm, and he tugged her toward his office.

One look at his face and all she saw was heat.

He closed the door, then whirled. He backed her against the wall.

Hadley felt her body go up in flames. She slid her hands into his hair and pulled his head to hers.
