“Couldn’t be better,” I say, grinning at the woman I call mom now. I can’t help but think about what my parents would think if they saw me now, or if they were here. I don’t think about it often because I don’t want to dwell on something that would never happen. But the fact is, I know they would be proud. They would love Cami, her family. Syl would be the center of their world, just like she is to Nadia and Nelson. They might not be here, but if they were, I know they would be proud and happy for me, and that just has to be enough.
Sylvie is more interested in the wrapping paper than all of the gifts my in-laws brought. “Papa brought plenty of batteries, sweetie. Do you want me to put them in your toy?” he asks. She just giggles and rips the wrapping paper and spreads it around the house. Pure Christmas joy is written across her face.
I have my arm wrapped around Cami as she frantically takes pictures of our daughter and coos at her.
“We have one more gift for you,” Cami says as she hands the small box over to Nadia and Nelson.
They pull the blue ribbon from the box and both of them grin as they see the onesie and sonogram in there.
“You two really give me the best gifts for Christmas,” she grins. The onesie says baby Smith is coming this June. “Are you going to find out what you’re having?”
“I think we’re going to keep it a surprise,” Cami says, leaning into me. We will both be happy either way. Finding out once we have the baby will make it even more exciting.
“Hm, well, I guess I can live with that. Another grandbaby.” She sighs as she leans against Nelson. It’s such a beautiful moment telling them this that we don’t notice the stark silence.
“Where’s Sylvie?” Cami says, getting up onto her feet and I follow her. We have the gates up and she can only be in the living room or kitchen. We round the large island in the kitchen to find Sylvie covered in frosting. The dozen cupcakes that were on the counter are now splattered to the floor as she smashes them against her face.
Her curls are covered in green frosting, along with the rest of her, as she licks her fingers and acts like she’s done nothing wrong. “Well on that note, I think it’s time we head over to Bethany’s for her get together.” Nadia giggles and takes a picture of Sylvie. “Nana and Papa love you, baby.” She kisses me and Cami on the cheek. Nelson also gives Cami a kiss and pats me on the shoulder.
“What are we going to do with you, Sylvie?” She doesn’t answer, just continues to lick the frosting off of her fingertips and grins, knowing that she’s won this round.
Cami covers her mouth and giggles. “Well, I guess it’s bath time,” she sing-songs. That gets Sylvie standing up, leaving the cupcake massacre behind her. “Will you bring her up to the bath?” Cami asks. Looks like I’m getting covered in frosting, too.
“Come here, you little stinker,” I say, getting frosting all over my clothes and face. Cami takes a picture and can’t stop laughing as we carry our daughter up to the tub. Cami fills the bath with bubbles and toys and Sylvie pushes more frosting into my beard. At least it tastes good.
“You two are a mess,” Cami says, still trying to control her laughter.
“Mommy needs a kiss,” I tell Sylvie as I kiss my wife, making sure to rub my frosting covered beard all over her face. She laughs and tries to get away, but my grip on her is tight. Sylvie even helps, taking her tiny baby hands and grabbing Cami’s cheeks. “Now mommy looks like she’s in the Christmas spirit.”
She grins, licking some frosting off her finger. Touché, Mrs. Smith, touché. “You better be nice if you want an extra special present tonight, daddy,” she says, grinning at me. I hate when I’m wrong… but Liv might have been on to this whole daddy thing. Cami doesn’t say it often, but when she does, I won’t lie. It does something to me.
“What’s my present?” I ask, placing our baby girl in the tub. She laughs at the bubbles, splashing in the shallow water and throwing her toys.
“Something that tastes better than frosting.” I hum and kiss her lips again. She still drives me wild and I can’t imagine a better person to have by my side as we take on this phase of life together.
“Merry Christmas, little star,” I say, kissing her lips.
“Merry Christmas,” she says back, looking at me like I hung the fucking moon. I’m not sure how life can get any better, but I’m excited to find out.
And a Happy New Year…

“Youbetterstoplookingat me like that or I might get you pregnant again.” I groan as Kelsey slides down my length. Her green gaze holding mine.
“We already have enough,” she says. Debatable, but now’s not the time. It’s five in the fucking morning, and it’s just the two of us. Something we haven’t gotten much of late, not that I’m complaining. It’s usually pack nights, or doubling up with our Omegas. But last night and this morning she’s all mine.
Christmas was a whirlwind, and she’s ready to give me my Christmas present. Even if it is a few days late. I’m a simple man, with simple tastes, after all.
“You getting my cock nice and wet, baby?” I grip her hips, watching as my cock goes in and out of her, slick dripping down my length and onto my thighs. How does this never get old? We’ve been bonded for fifteen years and she’s still just as radiant and drives me fucking crazy.
“So wet,” she says as she pushes her tits together, rubbing on her own nipples. Giving me a taste of what’s to come. “Have you been a good Alpha?” she asks, and I nod my head.
