Stopping in front of the door, Cassandra took one more deep breath before she figured out that it wasn’t going to be so bad. Her mind was just filling with madness. That’s all it was. Cassandra pushed it out and knocked quickly before she could talk herself out of it. Ever since Cassandra came back and things were so different, Cassandra wanted to believe that she and Steven could keep their distance. They had, but the cost was too high. Cassandra was ready to take chances and see what happened next.

Steven answered and his eyes narrowed when he saw her. “How did you get here?”

She shrugged and told him that she walked. “You said that you were close by and if I needed anything, I could come to you. I think you even reiterated the whole anything part.”

Steven agreed he had said such a thing. He just didn’t think that he would see her, not after the trip and everything. The way she had decided against seeing him all day.

“Are you going to let me in or are you busy?”

Steven nodded that he was going to let her in, but he didn’t move to help her or anything like that. Cassandra giggled and said that there was something that they needed to talk about. She was on a mission, and Cassandra wasn’t going to give in this time. She knew what she wanted, and Cassandra was prepared to do what it took to get it.

She moved past him, delighting in how good he felt when he was so close to her. Cassandra was sure that she was going to lose herself before they even got to anything. The moment had been built up so much in her head and in real life, that she worried for disappointment. What if he didn’t want her any longer? Cassandra didn’t think she would be able to cope.

Steven shut the door slowly and asked her what she wanted to talk about. Cassandra shrugged and sat down in his living room couch. She had been there before. It was different now. She looked at the room and the man in a whole new light. She was ready to stop hiding and let herself be seen.

“You look good.”

Cassandra nodded, thanking him and telling him that it was what she wanted. “I’m glad to get your attention. It’s what I wanted. I almost came to you at the hotel, but then things went sideways because Luke invited himself into my room and I couldn’t shake him.”

That was the first that Steven had heard of it, and he asked Cassandra what she was doing there.

“What do you think?”

Steven told her that he didn’t know. “You are under my protection, so I have no clue why you are here. Do you need something?”

Cassandra agreed that she did need something, but she didn’t need protection. She needed Steven to look at her as more than his friend’s sister. He did, that much was accomplished, but he wasn’t doing anything about it. Now he was close, and it wasn’t because she had kept him out all night.

She stood up and started to shrug off her cover. It was loose on the top and it left her looking vulnerable. Steven always seemed to have his dark eyes on her, and this time was no different. She wanted to turn away from the fire inside, but it really was invisible for her, especially when she was worked up like she was then.

“What are you doing?” Steven asked, a stutter in his voice.

“What I think we both want.”

Next, she took off her camisole underneath, with a bra to hold her down. Her breasts were mid-sized, and she covered them up with her hands. Cassandra tried to stand there proud and naked, but it was harder than she thought. He was just staring at her, not saying anything, barely breathing, eyes on her. Cassandra’s heart was racing in her chest, though it didn’t look like Steven seemed to notice.

Steven grimaced and asked her again what she was doing. “Don’t make me say it again, Steven. You’re going to make me think that you don’t want me.”

Steven said that she should never feel that way.

“You are definitely wanted, Cassandra, even if wanting you sends me to hell.”

Cassandra giggled. The tinkling sound was like music to his ears. “Well, if you are going there, we should make it worth it, shouldn’t we?”

Chapter 27

Steven

There he was, minding his own business, when everything started to go sideways. Cassandra burst her way in and what was he supposed to do, refuse her? He couldn’t and hadn’t wanted to. So instead, Steven grabbed her and yanked her into his arms. Her top was bare and her arms unfolded, to leave her tit’s softness smashed against his chest. He grimaced with the instant desire that ran through him. He had envisioned that she wasn’t going to respond in the way she was. Cassandra was so alive, which made dealing with her harder than ever.

“Are you trying to drive me crazy, Cassandra?”

Cassandra shrugged and confessed that she would do just that, if it got her what she wanted. His need to match her own, was what she wanted at the moment and when she said that, he melted against her, pulling her in for a kiss to get it started. She whimpered against his lips and Steven knew that there was no going back. He had not too long before made a promise to his best friend and he was going to break it. He wasn’t going to break the promise just a little bit or accidentally. He was going to smash it on purpose, and he knew that he would never be able to look back.

They were still right there where they started, so he quickly picked her up and started walking her into the bedroom. “Where are we going?’

Steven scoffed and said that she knew exactly where they were going. It was true too, and Cassandra didn’t fight it in the least bit. She held his neck, her arms looped around the strong muscles that she found there. Steven was lost in the moment, and he was kissing her again, before he let her down into his bed. He didn’t want to have her anywhere else, until he had taken her properly on his bed. He wanted to make a memory there that he would be able to pull up every time sleep wasn’t coming.

When he set her down, she didn’t let go of his neck, so he stayed down there with her and before too long, they were kissing again. Steven wrestled free and Cassandra whined. “Where are you going?”
