When he pops open the ring box, I let out a squeal. It’s a beautiful round ruby surrounded by small diamonds. “That’s gorgeous.”

He rakes me from head-to-toe, taking in my red pants and blouse. “Red is your color, London. Marry me. Please, marry me.”

“Yes!” I scream.” Of course, I’ll marry you.”

He slips the ring on my finger, followed by a lush kiss on my lips. “I love you, Ava.”

“I love you.” I reach to cup his face in my hands.

“You’re going to play the piano at our engagement party. It’s also Callie and Sean’s baby shower. Our niece arrives soon, so you’ll play the lullaby you wrote for little Hailey for her parents.”

I laugh. “I want to do that. I’m so excited to do that.”

“At Carnegie Hall,” he tells me. “Next Sunday afternoon.”

I tug on his tie. “You arranged all of it, didn’t you? You rented the space for this. You’re making this happen for me.”

“I’d move heaven and earth for you.” He kisses me again. “This is your debut at Carnegie Hall. One day, I’ll be sitting front row while you play for the masses.”

“You and our children,” I correct him. “I want to start trying to get pregnant right after we get married.”

He stares into my eyes. It feels as though he can see into the depths of my soul. “You saved my life, Ava. You gave me hope, and a future I didn’t think could ever exist for me. I want it all. I want the wedding. I want kids, and I want forever with you.”

I want it all too. I want everything life has in store for us.
