“I’ve been out a lot. Speaking of which, I should be out of here soon. It’s been great, but you know I can’t stay here forever.”

April grabs my arm, clutching it tightly. “Don’t leave me. What will I do in this dungeon alone?”

I manage to laugh. “This place is far from being a dungeon. Besides, I’ve seen you flirting with the hot gardener. Is there something you want to share?”

April's eyes widen in panic. “What did you see?”

“What did you do?” I exasperate. “April … tell me.”

“Look, he’s just really good at …” April coughs and then jumps out of bed. “Stuff … involving his tongue.”

“God, you’re such a bored housewife.” I chuckle. “I need some sleep. Goodnight.”

“Nighty night.” She winks before leaving and turning off the light.

I’m sitting at my desk, minding my own business, and praying Hunter doesn’t show up to work. Clearly, I didn’t think last night through. It’s one thing to be caught up in the moment, but another to realize in the light of day, decisions made under the influence of a handsome CEO will have consequences later.

Hunter arrives after lunch with a bunch of people from some company he is acquiring. He busily shows them around while I assist Meredith in preparing some materials for the afternoon meeting. At least I don’t have to be alone with him.

“Is there anything else you need?” I ask Meredith while helping her put a booklet in front of some chairs in the boardroom. “I was going to work on the report you sent me, but if there’s anything else?”

“Mr. Cash has requested you sit in on this meeting.”

“What for?” I blurt out, then clear my throat. “I apologize. That was rude of me. I didn’t sleep well last night.”

“Minutes, please.”

I nod, then take a deep breath. At my desk, I’m grabbing what I need for the meeting when Josh appears out of nowhere.

“Hey, you didn’t show up last night?”

“Oh, yeah, about that—”

“Alexandra was requested to stay back to perform some extra work for me,” the voice behind me says.

My body reacts before I can string a sentence together. How does he do this to me every time? He makes me look like an idiot unable to say anything intelligent.

“Oh,” Josh responds, forcing a smile. “I’m sorry. I just thought you would have texted or something.”

“I, uh, the work Mr. Cash insisted I perform was much more than I anticipated. I was wiped out afterward. I’m sorry.”

“It’s cool. How about Friday night? You free?”

“Alexandra,” Hunter calls sternly. “The meeting is about to start. Please make your way to the boardroom.”

“I’ll let you know.” I smile as I walk away and enter a room full of people.

Purposely, I take a seat all the way at the back to avoid eye contact with Hunter. With all my tools out and ready to start, I begin taking notes as Hunter stands in front of the room and presents some data on the screen. His public speaking skills are excellent, much like most of the men in my life. They all have this confidence and ability to own a room with the delivery of their speeches or presentations.

As I try my best to ignore how sexy he looks today in his navy suit, he takes a seat while another woman gets up to talk about future projections. I’m busy trying to capture what she says, but my phone buzzes next to me.

Hunter:You left me in quite a predicament last night.

Me:Stop distracting me. Some of us are trying to work.

I shake my head, trying to listen to this woman speak when my head is imagining Hunter walking around with rock hard cock all night long.Shit. Don’t go there now.
