Beau shrugs, but his eyes tell a different story. “You’re not going to college. You broke up with your boyfriend.”

“Is Millie telling you all this?” I ask, then sigh. “I mean, whatever, so I’m single, and college is … it’s not on my mind.”

“You’re young and beautiful. Just stay single. As for college, it ain’t so bad.”

His words stir a weird sensation in my stomach, close to a flutter. For a brief moment, I glance up, then look away. Of course, Beau enjoys college, he’s probably slept with all of the sorority house by now. I have no idea where he goes or what he plans to major in. Frankly, I’ve no desire to ask. The least of my favorite topics is college.

My heart races, but the feeling quickly subsides as I realize just how desperate I am if a comment from Beau can make me feel a certain way. He’s Will’s brother, end of story. There hasn’t been a guy since Cole, and maybe I need a fling of some sort to get it out of my system.

God, if only Eric could hear my internal thoughts. He’d be rejoicing and telling me just how proud he is.

Oh, and no glove, no love.

I shudder at the thought.

“We should probably get back and hang with the family.”

Beau nods with a smirk but remains quiet. I’m waiting for him to say something that will most likely annoy me, something he’s done since we were kids. We were the youngest kids in our families therefore our parents dumped us together. That, and our siblings were too cool to hang out with us.

But Beau has always been one to watch out for.

Three … two … one.

“You go back. Nash and I are heading out.”

“Out?” I question, crossing my arms. “We’re in the middle of nowhere.”

He rubs his chin, glancing at Nash, who is eyeing him to hurry up. Nash is just as bad with his women, barely able to hold a girlfriend. Every time I see him, there’s someone new.

“There’s a place in town suited for gentlemen.”

I shake my head in disgust. “Gross, how sleazy of you.”

Beau chuckles but then reaches out to touch my arm. “The player’s gotta play, right?”

With those words said, he leaves me standing by myself to meet with Nash. Men are so …argh. How are you supposed to be attracted to them or even consider committing for a lifetime when all they want is pussy?

There—I said it, and I’m calling bullshit.

Or maybe I’m drunk from two glasses of champagne.

Either way, Beau has put me in a bad mood.

And tomorrow, I’m supposed to be a proud bridesmaid walking down the aisle supporting the act of love.

More champagne… definitely more champagne.

“Inow pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Masen reaches out to cup Addy’s face and slowly draws her close before planting a soft yet non-pornographic kiss in front of everyone. Thank God, you never know how these kisses are supposed to turn out.

There’s loud cheering and clapping, plus an obnoxious whistle that had to come from Rocky. His suit is incredibly tight, something Eric has been giving him heat about all day. I briefly overheard the argument and how Rocky assumed he could fit into the same suit he wore to Will and Millie’s wedding. Turns out, he couldn’t.

I stand alongside my sisters, all of us wearing pale blue dresses though thankfully not matching. Ava did well with the choices, respecting our personal tastes yet thinking of Addy as well. Mine is an off-the-shoulder dress that sits just above my knee. She paired it with simple gold strappy heels, nothing over-the-top to keep everything elegant.

My parents watched on proudly from the front, as did Masen’s parents. It’s still hard to believe Masen and Addy just got married, given how much they despised each other. If I had to call it, I honestly thought it would be Addy and Cruz given they were so close for the longest of times.
