Sierra

After I wassummarily dismissed, I headed out to the great room to find my bestie. I needed wine and a hug.

“Siri!” My almost two-year-old nephew, Luca, came running up to me and I leaned down to scoop him up.

“Hey, baby, how’s my boy?”

He patted my face as I glanced over to Raquel who was sitting in one of the large recliners, breastfeeding Elena. “How was the meeting?”

“I gave my debrief then was kicked out,” I said, walking over to her, and setting Luca on his feet. “Shouldn’t you be drinking water while you’re breastfeeding?”

“Yeah, but I didn’t have time to grab any because my boobs flooded, like totally soaked through everything,” she whispered.

“Do you need a clean shirt?”

“Yeah, that’d be great, honey. I didn’t bring one up with me, which was a rookie mistake.”

“Be right back.” After grabbing a T-shirt from my room, I headed into the kitchen, finding several of the housewives making food.

“Hey, Sierra,” Violet said. “How did the meeting go?”

“Fine, I guess.” I shrugged. “Tense.”

“And?”

“Nice try,” I retorted. “You know I can’t tell you anything.”

Violet let out a dramatic sigh. “I seriously thought you might have our backs.”

“Don’t listen to her,” Wyatt said. “We all get it. Our men’ll fill us in. This isn’t on you.”

I smiled. “Thanks,firstlady, whoisn’tLetti.”

Violet flipped me off and I laughed as I found a giant jug and filled it with water. I also grabbed Raquel a snack then made my way back out to the great room.

“Oh my god, this is why I love you the most,” she breathed out, taking the water from me.

I smiled. “That’s not why.”

She laughed. “Okay, it’s one of the reasons.”

“Of course it is.”

I held up a large blanket, shielding her fromprying eyes so she could change shirts. I was impressed with her ability to do it without disturbing her still breastfeeding baby.

“Is that what I think it is?” she asked, nodding to my ring finger once she was settled back into the chair.

I let out a quiet sigh and smiled. “Yeah.”

“Oh my god, if I could scream right now, I would.”

“I know,” I whispered. “Me too.”

“Show me,” she demanded, and I reached my hand out so she could examine my engagement ring. “Holy sh—shmoly, honey, that’s amazing.”

“Iknow. Didn’t he do well?”

“Healy made it, right?”
