“Go through the back,” I said. “I’ll get Sierra to make sure Bellamy’s in the kitchen.”
Tango gave me a nod, and we started for the door.
“Hold up a second,” I said, and stepped back to Dizzy. “You got Luigi’s wallet?”
Dizzy nodded, handing it to me. I slid his license out of it, handing the wallet back to Dizzy before texting Sierra to distract Bellamy, then led Tango back up to the cabin.

Sierra
I scanned Wrath’s text and frowned, a little confused, but knew if he was asking me to distract Bellamy, it must be important. She was currently sitting in the great room watching a couple of the guys’ play pool.
No, that wasn’t entirely accurate. A couple of the guys were trying to impress her by besting each other at pool, but they were only managing to hit their balls so hard they went flying off the table, or scrubbing the felt, so it was kind of a shit show all around. Indigo was helping Mina with her bedtimeritual, so Bellamy was left to her own devices.
“Bellamy?” I called as I made my way to her.
“Yeah?”
“I heard you had a way with potato salad.”
She raised an eyebrow. “I have a way with a lot of things.”
I chuckled. “I wanted to make a batch for tomorrow’s dinner, can you help me, please?”
“Sure,” she said with a shrug and followed me into the kitchen.
Wrath walked in a few minutes later and gave me a relieved smile. “Whatya up to?”
“Potato salad,” I said, peeling my sixth spud.
Bellamy was at the stovetop setting eggs into a pot.
Wrath made his way to me and kissed my temple, whispering, “Thanks, baby.”
I smiled and nodded.
“How much did you know about this Luigi guy, Bellamy?” Wrath asked.
“Nothing,” she said. “I met him once when I took my car in for an oil change. He worked at the Lube and Go down on Academy. He asked me out, I said no. He called me, I blocked his number. Indigo said don’t go back, but they had a coupon, so I went back. I guess he thought that meant I liked him.” She shrugged. “I probably should have listened to Indy.”
“Uh, duh,” Indigo said, walking into the kitchen.
Bellamy rolled her eyes. “I’m here, so let’s just drop it, okay?”
“Next time you need somethin’ done to your car, bring it here,” I said. “No charge.”
“No way, really?”
“Yeah, sweetheart, we’ll take care of it.”
“Wow, Wrath, thanks.”
“No problem. Can I borrow Sierra for a bit?” Wrath asked.
“I roped Bellamy into making potato salad, honey. I’m not gonna bail on her,” I countered.
“I can take over,” Indigo said. “You go do what you gotta do.”
