“Those little bastards,” Raquel hissed.
“It’s fine. Wrath dealt with it, and I’m doling out the punishment very early tomorrow morning.” I turned to Indigo. “How are you feeling? Any soreness?”
“A little,” she said. “But more good than bad.”
“I’ll show you some specific stretches you can do that’ll help.”
“That’d be great, honey, thanks.”
Sabrina slapped her hand on the deck. “I can’t move. Is it too early for margaritas?”
Rowan sat up and stretched her arms above her head. “It’s past dinnertime, ergo, not too early.”
Her German Shepard, Lord, let out a loud yawn and settled his head on her lap.
“I knew I loved you,” Sabrina breathed out, still flat on her back.
Indigo’s phone buzzed on the deck, and she frowned, answering immediately. “Well, hey there, best friend on the plan—” She rose to her feet with a frown. “What’s wrong? What do you mean, there’s someone trying to break into your house? Can you get out? No? Jesus, okay, hide. Jekyll will be there, honey. Don’t answer the door until he gets there.”
“I’m texting everyone,” Wyatt said, her face buried in her phone.
“We’re on it, Bell,” Indigo promised. “Yeah, hide, honey. Please. Grab a bat or something you can cause some harm with.”
We left everything on the deck and made a run for the stairs. Jekyll was the first to meet us at the bottom, grabbing hold of Indigo who almost tripped on the last step. “Careful.”
“Someone’s trying to break in—”
“I know, honey, Tango and Dizzy were less than ten minutes from her place when Wyatt texted.” Jekyll wrapped his arms around her. “They’re on their way. We’re riding out now to join them.”
“I need to get to Walker House.”
“You’re not goin’ anywhere, GoGo. We’ll stop by Walker House and make sure everything’s okay, but you’re gonna stay here where you’re safe, where the kids are safe, and you’re not gonna move.” Hecupped her face and stared into her eyes. “Got it?”
Indigo and Bellamy ran a home for at-risk youth, and they were both incredibly dedicated to their ‘kids.’
She closed her eyes and nodded. “Hurry.”
“We will, baby,” he promised, kissing her quickly.
“Text me the second you know she’s okay,” Indigo ordered, following him out the door.
Wrath was shrugging on his leather jacket, as were Scooby and Stoney. Wrath gave me a quick kiss and joined the rest of the men out at their bikes.
“You tell Bellamy to pack her bags,” Indigo continued. “I don’t want any arguments. She’s staying here whether she likes it or not.”
Jekyll gave her a salute, then started his bike. I wrapped an arm around her shoulders as the roar of pipes filled the air. We watched them ride off, the bikes disappearing behind the giant gates.
“They’ll find her,” I promised.
“I should have made her come earlier.”
“Bellamy is even more stubborn than Letti,” I pointed out. “And that’s saying something.”
“I heard that,” Violet called out.
“I know,” I replied, then gave Indigo a squeeze. “Come on, let’s go drink until we forget.”
“I’m going to check on Mina really quick.”
