I suck in a breath of air. It’s the first time she’s said those words to me.
“Love you too,” Andi says. “Night baby.”
Andi grabs my hand and tugs me towards her room. “What do you think?” She drops onto the bed, crossing her ankles.
“You’re right. Lisa’s a bitch.” I drop beside her and grab her by the waist. Pulling her on to my lap, I sweep her hair behind her ear. “I don’t get why. You’re polite, and you’re not all over Matthew.”
Andi shrugs. “Maybe she’s worried I’ll take him back. Who knows?”
“Would you?” I ask, my insecurity showing.
“If I wanted him, I wouldn’t have left him.”
I smile. “Did you hear, Lettie?”
“She loves you. Sweet girl. I miss her already. Let’s go bring her in here.”
I dip my forehead so that it’s touching hers. My hands snake around her back, and I inhale the peppermint scent of her hair. “I’m so grateful every day that you’ve forgiven me.”
“I am, too,” she whispers, and her lips press against mine. “Let’s go shower and get to sleep.” Andi yawns.
“I’ll wash your back, if you wash mine?” I raise an eyebrow.
Andi stands and heads for the bathroom. I hurry to catch her up, smacking her ass when I do.
