She took two steps back, and I only followed. Oh, she was getting ready to run. Did she really think that was a good idea?

"I ... I am sorry, I ... interrupted you, but I was told to!" she told me.

She took two more steps back and a small third, and I just continued to follow. I could easily take three long strides and I would be right in front of her, but this was more fun.

"So ... don't blame me! I just did as I was told," she continued to say.

I didn't care at all about anyone telling her to interrupt me, just like I didn't care about anyone who watched or listened in. I liked to have a lot of sex, that was no secret, but now everything in me was focused on the little wolf in front of her. As a half-blood, she was a lot smaller than full-blooded female wolves, which meant she barely reached my chest, yet for humans, she would be considered quite tall, and while the black clothes hid her curves well, I clearly saw them, and the way the black shirt was stretched over her breasts, that I couldn't wait to touch and taste. I wanted to explore everything underneath her black clothes. I wanted to know what made her purr, what made her pant, and what made her scream. She would be my own little mystery to solve, and once I found out all those hidden small buttons, I would drive her mad with pleasure.

"Are you listening?" she asked.

It was hard to listen when all I saw was her. Even if I enjoyed the sound of her voice, it was not really at the moment what I was focusing on.

"Well?"

She realized I was not really paying any attention as to what she was talking about and just when she was about to turn and run, I got ahold of her arm. She had a backpack swung over one of her shoulders, and as I grabbed her it fell to the ground. She must have forgotten to zip it, when she ran out of there, scared of the punishment she might receive for "interrupting" me. Golden necklaces with rubies and diamonds in them and bracelets and diamond rings fell onto the ground and made cling sounds, as they hit the sidewalk. We both looked at all the stolen goods before we slowly turned to one another.

"Would you look at that," I said. "The little wolf is a thief."

Chapter 4

-Lara-

My heart stopped inside my chest. I had just wanted to flee that stupid party after catching the king doing ... that, but instead, he had followed me. You didn't just interrupt the king like that, but it had been an accident. Now I could not act so innocent, as all the stolen goods from my bag were scattered on the ground.

Fuck me ...

It was all I could think as he had a hand wrapped around my arm and a smug smile on his lips. Wait ... Why did he not look mad? I saw no anger swirl in his eyes or felt any threatening energy around him. No, he was almost ... relaxed and for some reason, it scared me more than anything else. I tried pulling my arm to me, but it was no use. My strength was nothing compared to his.

"Let me go!" I sneered.

"I can't let a thief go unpunished," he said darkly.

Why did he say it like that? He did not sound like someone who actually wanted to "punish" me, but like he wanted to ... play with me?

"Just ... let me go," I begged. "I won't do it again."

"And I am to take your word for that?" he asked with that smug smile.

"I needed it ..."

"For?

I didn't believe he would understand. How could he? He was the most powerful man on this earth and people here treated him like he was a god. No, he would not understand my situation, and more importantly, it was my private business, and I didn't want to tell him anything.

"Just let me go!" I sneered.

"And let my little mate, who is a thief, go unpunished?"

"Your ... what?"

What had he just said? A cruel smile spread on his lips, and I was just about to ask him to repeat his words when I heard people coming our way.

"Dominic!"

I looked over my shoulder, seeing two more hybrids appear. It was just my luck, wasn't it? Why on earth did I have to run into, not just one, not just two ... but three hybrids?! Could nothing just go my way for once? Apparently not ... No, matter what I did, the king wouldn't let go of me, and I just wanted to run the closer the other two got.

"What is going on here?" one of them asked.
