She made me a daddy all over again. I’m not a bit sad about that. And I’m relieved as fuck to know why she’s been so tired. Need to get her some prenatals. Stat.

Sweet Maddyn is gonna have to wean before our new one arrives. She’s gonna be pissed about that. My little girl is fierce like her mommy, tough like her daddy.

She’ll be okay.

We all will.

CHAPTER10

ROWDY AND REESE

The second I open my eyes I’m filled with excitement at the idea, the possibility of being able to tell Rowdy I’m pregnant.

Or I have the stomach bug.

I’ve been pregnant before. You’d think I’d just know. Right?

Laying around isn’t in the cards if I want to take the test before Cam wakes up. Plus, my bladder has demands of its own.

Quiet as a mouse, I slip on my robe and head to the bathroom. I open the cabinet and find the box I hid in here last night. There’re three tests. I grab one and hide the box again.

I do my business and pee on the stick. Then wash my hands and face while I wait.

And wait.

And wait.

Three minutes seems like an eternity.

One line appears.

Tapping on the door has me scurrying to hide the test in my robe pocket, along with the wrapper. I quickly scan the bathroom to be sure all evidence is hidden.

Unlocking it, I come face to face with Taylor.

“Hey, you’re up early.” I open the door wider.

She looks both ways down the hall and slips inside, closing the door behind her. “Uh, yeah, I was hoping you were up.” She twists the end of her sleep shirt, her gaze flitting between me and the space behind me.

“What’s wrong?”

“Um, do you by chance have a spare pregnancy test?”

Christ on a cracker.“Wow. I do.” I pull the box out of the cabinet and hand it to her. “Use all you need.”

She sees it’s open. “You—”

“I don’t know yet. I was just—”

“Oh, right.” She goes for the door. “Sorry to interrupt. I… uh… see you later?”

She’s gone before I can reply. What are the chances she’s pregnant too?

Wait. Too?

I don’t know if I’m pregnantyet. Reaching into my pocket, I lock onto the stick.

Knock. Knock.
