I turned to see a very, very angry Matt storming across the room toward me. My eyes drank him in like a drug. He was something else in clothes, but right now, dressed only in a tiny pair of shorts, dripping in sweat, his body was God-like.

My eyes were drawn to his huge shoulders, defined pecs, and hairless chest with a date tattooed over his heart. Letting my eyes move south, I took in his rigid abs with the trail of dark brown hair that disappeared beneath his waistband and the V carved into his hips that made me want to groan loudly. His thick thighs made me wonder what it would feel like to dig my nails into the back of them as he fucked my mouth, and the clear outline of his cock in his shorts didn’t help curb my fantasy.

“Matt?” I questioned, confused.

“Where’s Neo?” he growled.

“Asleep, I presume.” I shrugged, not sure why he was so upset.

“What about any other members of your security team?”

“Also asleep, I guess.”

“You came down here alone?” His voice was low and controlled now, but I could hear the anger hinging on every word.

“No, I was meeting Brandon.”

“Who the fuck is Brandon? Has he been vetted and why is he qualified to be alone with you? Is he able to protect you from obsessed fans, the press, or crazy people who might want to kidnap you or kill you? Can he disarm a gunman or take down someone with a knife?”

“No, but…” I stared up at Matt and realized anything I said to defend my decision to come to yoga alone would fall on deaf ears.

“No fucking buts, Frankie.” The dominance in his voice made my body buzz. “You can’t just walk around with no one to protect you. You’re part of the Cosmic Gods, for fuck’s sake.”

“I went to a yoga class. It’s not a big deal”

Matt walked forward, forcing me backward until my back hit the cold wall.

“You went to a yoga class in a gym anyone in the hotel can use. And that anyone could have been someone who wanted to hurt you. It’s only because it’s so stupidly early in the morning that you’ve managed to get away with it.”

“Matt, you’re being paranoid.”

He slammed his hands against the wall on either side of my head. I should have felt scared because of his sheer size, but I didn’t. I felt safe. His presence protecting me from the world.

“No, I’m doing my job, Rogue. I’m trying to keep you safe. Who even was that douchebag, anyway?

“He’s my trainer. He’s the reason I have this body. He’s been with me for years.”

I pushed him away from me, needing to put some space between us before the desire building between my thighs ignited. He lowered his arms, but it didn’t stop the anger that stormed in his eyes.

“Did he need to put his hands on you?”

“Yes, he needed to put his hands on me. If it makes you feel better, he’s gay and not interested in me. You’re sounding like a weirdly obsessed boyfriend Matt and the last time I checked, I am free and single and able to do whatever I want, without you getting a say in it.”

I turned to walk away, but I wasn’t quick enough. Grabbing me by the wrist and pulling me so I slammed into his sweaty chest, he knocked the air from my lungs. Closing my eyes, I let the scent of him wash over me. Even though he’d obviously been working out hard, he still smelt of fresh laundry.

“I don’t want to see you out of the penthouse without a bodyguard with you. If you’re not comfortable with one of them, then phone me and I will go with you. You are too valuable to let something happen to you because you’re a stubborn brat.”

“Excuse me.”

“You heard me. You’re a stubborn brat. You make my life impossible.”

“Well then, it’s a good job you handed me over to Neo. Now you don’t have to have anything to do with me.”

His hand stayed fixed around my wrist and our bodies crushed together. The feel of his solid chest against mine doing strange things to my heart rate.

Dropping his head, his lips ghosted my neck, his warm breath dancing across sweat coated skin.

“You have no idea.” His voice sounded different; the low angry tone I’d heard earlier was replaced by something that sounded like pain. Visceral pain that tore through his body and affected his speech.
