And what about Harry? Am I just gonna walk away?

Hi and bye… Nice knowing ya for all of five minutes…?

It just feels wrong.

But the sight of the bus I’m supposed to catch closing its doors has me doing some kind of attempt at running as I try equally hard to lift my arms while carrying a bag.

The bus driver spots me and patiently waits while I huff it aboard. He scans my digital ticket after I fish my phone from my handbag swinging from my elbow.

My whole body feels like it’s been taken apart and put back together, except all the important stuff’s been left out.

“Take your seat, Miss.” The driver smiles, and I stagger to the rear of the bus.

Collapsing into my seat.

Harry and Megan, eh?

Every inch the bus moves. Every foot further away from him I get, I know I’m just gonna feel worse.

If I stop the bus now and get off, there’s no guarantee he’ll even be there still….

And if I don’t?

Uhhh. Fuck.

Fuck it.

“Driver! Stop the bus, I need to get off!”

Harry

What the fuck just happened?

I mean… What. The. Actual—

“Stop the car!” I bark once I notice us moving again. Minus the one thing I know I can’t be without from now on.

Megan…

I lurch forward, scrambling out of the car and slapping my hand on the trunk until he opens it.

My driver looks like he thinks his rideshare is being attacked by a giant gorilla. But I just need my bag and I need to find Megan.

Megan….

My usual flashes of psychic brilliance suddenly dimmed when I saw her.

I thought the girl from the video Frank showed me was the one… I mean, that ass for starters.

But as soon as I got into the rideshare, it was all about Megan.

Like I’ve totally forgotten about the other girl, the ticket… The fact she’s in danger. I’m supposed to be tracking her down.

Not chumming up in the back seat with strangers.

The one. Remember?
