Whatever happened to ignoring him… Going home… Remember?

“You heading home?” he asks, making me jump with a start. He’s all the way back in his seat now, as if I might’ve dreamed the whole him pressing into me thing.

But it was real alright.

“Hmm hm,” I reply automatically. Overlooking the fact the guy literally just read my mind.

Some of it anyway.

If he can read the rest, it’s more of a picture book. The pop-up kind that has parts you can move… In and out, that sort of thing.

“I’m Harry,” he finally says, easing me out of the pit of silence I’ve dug for myself.

He extends one of his huge hands, and I feel my jaw drop and my eyes go wide as his thick fingers curl over mine.

Making me feel tiny. Another first.

But it’s not just the electric charge from his magic hand that’s undone me.

That at-rest pant bulge I noticed before.

It’s gone.

Guy’s got a tree stump where it used to be. And he doesn’t seem to mind one bit that I’ve noticed.

In fact, if anything, he looks pleased by my reaction.

“Megan,”I rasp.

The word has his grin spreading into a beaming smile and he slaps his thigh.

“Harry and Megan, eh?” he exclaims. But I don’t get it.

I’m still trying to work my eyes so I can keep them on his and keep the view of that space needle he’s packing.

Jesus Christ… Is there anything this guy hasn’t got…?

I feel the car slowing, or am I falling backward? Fainting in a deathly swoon.

I’ve been horny, sure. I’m only human. But what this man is doing to me simply by existing is off the charts.

“Here we are. Miss…,” Our driver chimes, already scoping the traffic ahead once he has to exit the bus terminal.

“I- I gotta go,” I stammer. Feeling like I’m leaving my insides behind when I step out of the car. The blistering heat from the scorching sun on hot asphalt at the bus station stinging my eyes.

Like the real world is acid and lava, and Harry is the only safe thing to look at anymore.

The world I once knew seems like a bad idea compared to those few minutes I just experienced.

The driver honks his horn, making me jump.

The open trunk of the rideshare bounces like a giant steel mouth telling me to hurry the fuck up and get my luggage.

I wave an apology as I reach for my suitcase, mouthing the words I’m sorry to the driver, catching his friendly smile before I slam the trunk shut.

My legs like jelly.

The luggage in my hand feeling way heavier than I remember.
