“Trying to find your side piece, fuck knows why though.” I mentally fist bump Hunter, Cairo deserved that.

“How risky is it?”

“Shut up Cairo, I can’t do it if you keep yapping!” I grit out. Silence descends and I focus on trying to feel for Sky, I know this is going to hurt so I’m preparing myself hoping that it will help fight the pain long enough to locate her. “Show me what she saw.” I whisper, being shifters means they can hear my whispered words. The daydream or vision slams into me, I’m unsure as to what I’m doing right now. The pain is instant, and the stabbing in the back of my head has me hissing, I feel hands on me and know it’s my brothers.

“Tell me Belle, what happened?”

“She fought Blake, she fought but they had someone else.”

“Who B?”

“I can’t see them Hunt, they were in the bushes. Cairo was the distraction; he was never the target…Sky was.”

“What?” Someone snaps.

“Shut up, or I pull her out now! carry on Belle, where are they?” I shake my head bending my neck side to side trying to alleviate the pain, but to no avail.

“Someone in a red robe came out, the men rose. They carried her, swirls circled her, and she fought. He came for her to take him down––ahhhhh.” I scream out.

“Belle enough, stop it now!” I fight through the pain, if I pull out now, I won’t see the man’s face, and we will never find her.

“No!” I whimper.

“Your nose is bleeding and we’re holding you up, stop.” I ignore Cass, I push through the haze of pain and follow the vision of Sky fighting with all she has, she is magnificent and a force of nature. She has beams of light shooting from her hands, she moves swiftly, this woman is awe inspiring! “Stop her!”

“How do you expect me to do that?”

“If you don’t Cairo, your mate will…die.” I’m too far gone to scold Cass, reaching out for Ro’s help, tells me it must be bad. Six sets of hands are replaced by two, and immediately the tension that was running through my body is gone, Cairo lowers my body to the ground, holding me.

“Beauty, can you do this?” I can’t talk or I risk losing Sky, so I nod instead. “Tell me what you see baby?”

“She speaks in riddles you won’t––.” I cut Hunter off.

“Red robe, men on their feet, you’re the distraction, she’s their weapon to lure him out because of me.”

“Who do you see baby? Anyone you recognize?” I feel my body begin to tremble and know I don’t have long before I pass out.

“Seven people, suit and tie leader, ugly teeth, Sky hates him.”

“Is it the council?” Before I can nod or do anything, the vision in front of me stills. Sky spins toward me as everything around us freezes, and I’m pulled into the vision, I’m no longer a by stander. The men with guns are frozen, bullets hang suspended in midair, the man in the suit has spittle flying out of his mouth, but its stuck, it’s like someone has paused a movie.

“Belle, tell him it’s the council and they have a witch.”

“What?” I’m so confused this has never happened before.

“Belle!” I snap my gaze to Sky. “I’m a witch, Gabrielle. I summoned you here so you can go back and tell him that––.” She pauses and her eyes cloud with tears causing me to gasp, Skylar Cage isn’t the type of woman to cry. “Tell him to put me down, I don’t want to be what destiny said I would be.”

“Where are you Sky? We’ll come––.”

“No Belle, it’s too late for me, the witch they have will make sure I don’t have a choice.” Tears begin to cloud my own vision.

“Sky please.” She shakes her head.

“I don’t have long Belle, tell California that I love her, and she was always the light in my darkest hour. Tell Cairo to tell her the truth about everything, make sure she knows she was my reason for fighting, and if I was given a choice…it would be her.” Tears leak from the corners of my eyes; Sky is going to die.

“It will kill them, please fight.” She smiles sadly.

“I’ve been fighting my whole life Belle; I can’t fight anymore.” A tear treks down her cheek. “Tell Cairo––Tell him I don’t regret a thing, and I would do it all again.” I nod my head and try to fight the sobs that tear from me, tears flow freely down my face.
