He chose a clear stone next, running it along Tripp’s legs, loving the way he moved when he trailed the rock along the juncture between his hips and thighs, leaving more water trails behind. With the green stone he drew a smiley face on Tripp’s abs, leaning in to lick some of the water away. This stone was a little rougher than the other two, changing the way Tripp moved.

Now that he’d noticed it, every stone produced a different reaction, which only prompted him to draw things out more, just to get a full sense of what Tripp liked and what he didn’t. He’d emphatically shaken his head no when Zakk ran a black stone behind his knee, and yet, that same stone run over his pecs produced shivering, moaning, and low guttural sounds that couldn’t be mistaken for anything but pleasure.

A brief, almost juvenile thought flitted through Zakk’s mind, wondering if this gave a whole new meaning to getting one’s rocks off. For a moment, he almost blurted out the question, only, he didn’t want to break the spell with jokes, or even the dirty talk he was notorious for. Maybe…was this the difference between fucking and making love?

Each time he looked into Tripp’s eyes, there was this jolt of electricity that hit him straight in the gut. It was more than being horny and wanting to ride the hard cock running along the underside of his, especially when Tripp wiggled or squirmed. It was deeper, like, well, almost like they were the only ones in the world.

With the last stone he traced the contours of Tripp’s face, leaned in and kissed him despite the gag, lips pressed to cloth and a little bit of flesh, before he worked his way down Tripp’s chin and neck.

“I wanna ride you,” Zakk murmured against his skin. He knew Tripp heard. His body tensed and when he looked up, his man was nodding enthusiastically at him.

For the first time since they’d crawled on the bed, Zakk was in a hurry, prepping himself as he lay overtop of Tripp, occasionally kissing and nipping him. Gods, Tripp’s cock felt amazing as he sank down onto it, Tripp running the fingertips of his bound hands up and down Zakk’s stomach as he got used to the stretch and slight burn that always came from taking him. The moment he was comfortable, Zakk let his head fall back as he rolled his hips, setting a slow, lazy rhythm.

Tripp had other ideas though, capturing him in the circle of his arms, his tied hands imprisoning Zakk there as he thrust up into him. Eyes rolling back, Zakk ceded control, sinking into the strength Tripp exuded. All that muscle bunched and coiled beneath him, Tripp holding him close, rocking Zakk against him even as he fucked up into him until all Zakk could see was splashes of light.

Heat, passion, everything melted into one long line of sensation, pushing him higher. Sound rang in his ears, his groans and Tripp’s growls merging. Everything whited out then, light spots behind his eyelids, static in his brain. He came back to himself slowly. Aware of being sweaty, sticky, and warm from where he was laying on Tripp’s chest, still pinned by his arms. His breathing was labored though, the gag damp when Zakk worked it free of his mouth. It was all Zakk had the energy to do in that moment. At least Tripp could breathe easier now.

“You’re my sunshine too, ya know,” Tripp murmured sometime later. The room had grown dimmer, the shine fading like it would soon go down. “Just seeing you in the morning makes everything infinitely better. I don’t want to go back to days upon weeks of not seeing each other except through a video chat.”

“Neither…do…I. Miss you…too much.”

Zakk’s words were muffled against Tripp’s sweaty flesh, but he was too tired to lift his head and say it clearer. He just hoped Tripp heard him, or at least, understood the intent behind his disjointed sounds.

“Have you been mercing bottles of SoCo ‘cause you miss me?”

Whoa.

Not what he’d expected. His brain was too scrambled to have this conversation. Maybe nodding would be the end of it for now.

“You’re gonna stop that shit.”

Tripp sounded fierce, and not near as wrung out as Zakk felt. Those calloused fingers traced lines long the small of his back, soothing enough that Zakk just wanted to sink into the feeling. Perhaps he should have left the gag in place until after they’d taken a nap.

“I mean it,” Tripp murmured. “Don’t want anything to happen to you. We’ll work something out so we don’t have to lose each other. You best believe that.”

The thing was, just listening to him say it, Zakk didn’t just believe it, he felt the truth in Tripp’s words, and in the secure way he held Zakk close. In a world that only wanted the music, it was nice to have someone who wanted the man behind it.

“I should untie your hands.” Zakk muttered.

“Naa, let’s stay this way a little longer. I love the feel of you in my arms. Untying me means you gotta move, and I’m not ready for you to do that yet.”

“You don’t have ta sweet talk me,” Zakk said, sighing a little as the drowsiness grew heavier. “You already got me, locks, rocks and bandanas.”

Tripp pulled him further up on his chest, just so he could kiss the top of Zakk’s head and whisper into the strands. “That’s where you’re wrong. Having you means I get to shower you with words, kisses and sweet talk each and every day so you’ll know that I’m aware of how very lucky I am.”

“I’m the lucky one.”

“Then I guess we’ll have to agree to be lucky together.”

Chapter 12

Seasons in the Night

Sleep was not happening, despite not consuming a caffeinated drink since before supper. It was almost midnight now, and Zakk was still wired. Maybe it was all the fresh air he’d gotten all afternoon, only that was supposed to help you sleep, wasn’t it? He’d opened the window in his room, hoping a little more would help him crash, but if anything, he was still as full of energy as he’d been when racing dune buggies earlier in the afternoon.

It was seriously one of the most thrilling things he’d ever done that didn’t involve a stage. It wasn’t surprising that he ran into Dez, who was creeping out of Riley’s room with his guitar in his hands. Holding a finger to his lips he inclined his head back towards his room, a sure indication that Riley was asleep inside.

What was surprising was when Tripp’s door opened, his lover looking disheveled and bleary eyed as he scanned the hall for him. When Zakk had crept out of Tripp’s room to return to his own, he’d only done it so he wouldn’t wake Tripp. Now, it looked like he’d woken on his own and come searching for him. One look at the way Tripp glanced between Dez and Zakk, and it was easy to guess what he was thinking, only Dez seemed to read the situation too, and backed up, holding the guitar up in front of him.
