I slap my own face and run my palm down it at the memory. I leapt over the girls’ class while they were sitting and listening to their teacher, and I angled myself just right so I could soak every one of them.

“You found that charming?” I peek through spread fingers.

“I found it annoying as hell. The water was so cold. But . . . the boy was cute.” She bites her lip and shifts in her seat. My eyes do their thing, checking the status of her skirt, which has risen another inch.Fuck.

If she hasn’t caught me staring at her thighs yet, I’m going to have to get overt.

“White,” I say, blinking my gaze back up to her face.

Her lips twist with her sideways glance.

“Your panties. I hope they’re white.”

Chapter21

Lily

My panties are white. And my God, are they wet.

Before Theo has a chance to take those words back, I squirm in my seat, purposely inching my skirt up my thigh to expose more of my leg. I’ve heard the stories, and I know there’s a lot of truth to them. I’m not the first girl he’s parked in this car with out in the middle of nowhere. He’s also not the only boy who’s seen the color of my panties.

Ohio boys got nothing on Boston.

“You know, a lot of Welles girls talk about you and Cameron and your football friends,” I lead.

“Oh, yeah?” He leans into the center console, placing his elbow on the leather arm rest while his hand lingers an inch or two above my knee. I suck in a quick breath.

“Yeah,” I say, mentally willing his hand to lower. “They call you players and bad boys and all that.” Truthfully, all Welles boys have a certain rap. They’re not known for long-term relationships and commitment, which is probably why so many Welles girls date Augustine guys.

Theo’s never officially dated anyone. He’s taken girls to formal dances, and I’ve heard all about the make-out sessions and sex at parties. But when it comes to life on campus, he’s never walked around holding hands with a girl or kissed her after a football game. Naïve as it is, I would like to be the first. He’s already kissed me in the middle of the Ashwood mall.

Theo breathes out a laugh and scoots even closer in my direction. I clench my thighs together, feeling myself swell with need.

“I’ve never said I was a nice guy, remember?” His voice is deeper, husky in fact.

His fingertip brushes against my knee, almost like a test.

“Oh, I remember. But youarea nice guy, Theo. You’re just also . . .”

His hand makes another pass, this time using the side of his knuckle.

“Also what, Lily?”

I shiver, fully aware of the tiny bumps now covering my legs.

“Not from smalltown Ohio,” I mutter nervously.

He chuckles again and continues to run his knuckle along my skin. I glance up to meet his hooded eyes, then take in his chest and arms, breathing in his scent and wondering if he could get a little closer. I look down to my lap quickly, suddenly very aware of his erection and where this is going. Where Iwantthis to go.

“Lily?” His voice is deeper somehow.

“Uh huh?” I croak.

“I’m not a player. But if you want, we can play a game.”

Theo draws a small circle on my bare knee and instant shivers crawl up my leg and wrap around my body. He feels my slight flinch and his mouth curls ever so slightly into the faintest, most devious smile. His tongue stops at the edge of his teeth. I wait for his eyes to flit to mine. When they do, my core clenches.

“Am I making you nervous, Lily?”
