“Hey!”

“Auntie Jeni,” Ethan calls out as he struggles to get down from Sarah’s hip.

“Just be careful. Remember what we said about Auntie Jeni’s belly?” Sarah reminds Ethan.

She puts him down, and he runs over to a heavily pregnant Jeni, who looks about ready to burst. Jeni bends down and picks Ethan up and places him on her lap.

Aiden walks over. “Hey, dude, how’s things?” He gives me one of those manly slaps on the shoulder.

“Yeah, good. Nearly had Mom and Ethan walk in on us this morning,” I tell him with a laugh.

“Fuck! That would have scarred the poor kid for life with the antics you two get up to.”

I laugh. “Yeah, no doubt, something for you to look forward to. Jeni’s not far off now, hey?” I ask, and Aiden’s face takes on a more terrified appearance.

“Yeah, she’s due any day. I have no idea what I am doing. I’m putting on a brave face for Jeni, but really I am shitting myself. I don’t know the first thing about being a father. All I know is I don’t want to be anything like my father,” he admits.

“Being a father is fantastic. The first few weeks suck… don’t remember ever being that tired. But once you’re in a routine, it becomes second nature. You’ll be a great dad, Aiden. I see how you are with Ethan. Just be you, and it’ll be fine,” I say, slapping him on the shoulder.

While spending the evening with our friends, Sarah tells Callie all her crazy ideas. Of course, Callie, being the lovely woman she is, didn’t dismiss any of them but said they would revisit them at another time.

Aiden, Mike, and I stood back and tried not to laugh as we watched my beautiful wife make a complete fool of herself.

Doesn’t matter, we all love her anyway.

After a fantastic night, we said our goodbyes. Ethan was beyond exhausted after playing with Callie’s baby chicks all night, and we headed home.

We tucked him into bed and went to the living room to unwind, watching Game of Thrones. Sarah cuddles into my side, and I wrap my arm around her tightly. Suddenly, she sits bolt upright and looks at me like she wants to say something but is holding back.

“What’s going through that head of yours?” I ask.

“So… just hear me out before you say anything, okay?”

Oh, good God, what now?

“Okaaay?” I say drawn out with concern etched in my voice.

“Right, so… I was talking with Jeni today, and I was watching her and how beautiful she looks when she’s pregnant. She was telling me all about how her baby is kicking, and she can feel him move and all that stuff. Sooo… anyway… I was wondering what your thoughts are for us trying to have another baby?”

I was waiting for this to come up. Sarah’s always touching Jeni’s belly and doting on her, and I knew this scenario eventually would play out, and to be honest, I have no idea how I feel about it. I always wanted more kids, and I guess Ethan is two and a half, so now is probably the right time.

“Okay, you’ve been quiet for too long. Just say you don’t want to and put me out of my misery,” she huffs, folding her arms across her chest. That little display of disappointment is enough to make my mind up.

“No, I was just thinking, babe. I’m in, let’s try for another baby.”

Sarah’s smile shines so brightly as she lunges forward embracing me tightly, so tightly I can hardly fucking breathe.

Holy crap! Did I just agree to another kid?

Oh, well, guess that means more sex, and there won’t be any complaints from me.

“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and you’ve made me so happy.” She beams as she cuddles into me.

Just think… lots of sex. Lots… of… sex. Lots. Of. Sex!

I am sure my eyes are growing wider the more I think about it. “When do you want to start trying?”

“Tonight?”
