“So, you’re what people call a psychopath?”
“Fuck you.”
“People like you should be put down like the rabid animals you are.” She stood and walked to the guys. “I’m ready.”
She stopped at the door before going through and waited until the bastard got to the one he would go out of.
“Hey, Jones,” she yelled. “You better pray for forgiveness for all the women and children you raped and killed.”
Her men started cursing, and the other prisoners in the room looked at Jones with fury. Jones screamed at her and fought the two guards who were trying to pull him from the room.
“I hope you get everything and more for what you’ve done. Have a great life, you bastard.” She let the men pull her out of the room, and the guard locked it behind them.
They made it out to the car and drove through the gate when the men spoke up.
“You know what you did, right?”
“What?”
“You just signed his death sentence. Prisoners don’t like child molesters and rapists.”
“So, they’ll hurt him?”
“Hell, yes. And then they’ll kill him,” Raul said.
She exhaled and nodded. “Then justice will be done. I hope they hurt him a lot.”
Both men chuckled.
“You amaze me, honey,” Brodie said. “I didn’t think you had a mean bone in your body.”
“I didn’t before this, and I’d like to think I’m not being mean so much as helping get a monster from the earth. The state will save money, and we won’t ever have to worry about him again. It’s a win-win for everyone but him.”
“Are you done with your vengeance?” Raul asked.
“I’d like to visit a few more of them.”
“They won’t ever be letting you back in that prison because the others are there, too.”
“Damn. But there’s a chance the prisoners will hear that they were all together and take out every one of them. Isn’t there?”
Brodie snorted. “Yes, there’s a high possibility that will happen.”
“Okay.” She turned and looked out the window. A peace she hadn’t had in so long filled her. Her life was finally on track, and she’d met a wonderful man who cared about her. She’d done everything she could to help take out the bad guys, and she had a home and a job with The Safe Haven organization, so she would continue to help people. It was something she’d always loved to do.
They pulled into the underground parking and parked by the elevator. Both men got out, and one of them opened herdoor.
“I want to thank you guys so much.” She hugged one and then the other. “You helped me more than you’ll ever know.”
“You won’t scare us like this again, will you?” Raul asked.
“I’ll try not to.”
Raul snorted.
“You guys don’t have to go up with me,” she said.
“We’ll make sure you make it to your condo,” Brodie said.
