I’m not sure if a massage will relax me or get me worked up, but I’m willing to find out. It lays the foundation for considering a relationship with him once our work arrangement is over.

“What do you want to watch?” Carson asks.

“Anything.” It’s true. The chance I’m going to pay attention to the screen is zero.

“You must have a favorite,” Nathan says.

“I’m always singing the praises of Pride and Prejudice, but we can pick something the two of you would like also.”

Nathan laughs. “You and my sister.”

I love Natalie dearly, but I’d rather not think of her when I’m with her brother.

He regroups as if he’s also frustrated that he brought her up. “I’ve seen it. I love it. The architecture is gorgeous.”

“I’m game to watch. Whatever makes you happy. I appreciate you saying you weren’t scared when I blew up at Jefferson earlier, but I saw how big your eyes got. You froze.” Carson chucks a finger under my chin. “You can be honest with me. And we’re going to watch your favorite movie while I give you a massage so I can make it up to you. No disagreement allowed.”

“Okay, thanks,” I say sheepishly. I can’t be honest with him. That would require me telling him that what he overheard last night was me fantasizing about him and Nathan claiming me while I rode my vibrator.

Carson sits against one end of the couch, dropping one leg to the ground, inviting me to sit with him. How else will he massage my shoulders? Deep breaths and a prayer that I don’t climax from his touch, give me the strength to accept his offer.

Nathan sits at the opposite end of the couch, and I kind of feel bad that he’s left out of our contact. Which is utterly ridiculous. It’s only a kind gesture.

I let Carson continue his efforts over my entire back and down my arms. The man is a god. The tension in my shoulders is long gone but it’s replaced by a knot low in my belly that’s wound so hard I’m in pain.

“I need to get a drink. Want popcorn?” he asks.

“Extra butter?”

Nathan agrees, “There’s no other way to eat it.”

Carson slides out from around me and I fall back onto the arm of the couch when he’s gone. I’m kind of drunk on desire after the amazing rub down.

Flopping onto my side, I stretch and intend to rub my foot over Nathan’s blanket-covered leg. I overshoot, gliding my foot over the top of his thigh. It’s immediately clear that the hard as steel length my toes brush over isn’t his leg.

Wet heat soaks my panties. I don’t normally use my foot to measure things, but his shaft was…substantial. My sex clenches around emptiness, begging to find out how he would stretch me. The Rolling Stones song about can’t get no satisfaction wouldn’t exist if all men were built like Nathan.

My eyes dart to his, which have gone wide. Time must have slowed because I take in every flinch in his expression. Every hint of panic. Every shred of embarrassment. His hands move in slow motion, gripping my foot, moving it off his lap.

“Nathan.” What am I going to say? I want you to fuck me. One time.

“We can’t.”

“We can.” I do my best not to sound like I’m begging. Who better to take my virginity than a trusted friend?

The feral darkness in his eyes betrays his truth. His actions show his restraint. Time accelerates. He stands. Before I know it, he’s on the stairs.

“Finish without me. I’m going to bed.”

Nathan

We’regoingtohaveto let her go. It’s the only rational thing to do unless I’m going to use my next erection for more than my own entertainment.

I pace back and forth on the deck outside of my bedroom and stare at the bright stars strewn across the blackness. The wee hours of the morning are usually the most peaceful time of day. They hold the answers when my brain won’t let go of a problem.

I once thought there was nothing more beautiful than the Milky Way streaking across the sky. It was reserved for those of us who appreciate natural beauty and make it our focus by living in the mountains where man-made lights and wonders are few and far between. Ironic for an architect.
