Everything felt surreal.

She was nauseous, sluggish, confused, and generally felt like garbage.

Slowly, Summer tried to move. She wanted to know what was going on, why she felt so rotten.

She blinked.

Tried to focus.

Blinked again.

And finally, her vision cleared a little.

She was in a room. It looked like a cabin. She saw a huge fireplace, a small kitchenette, a box of some sort.

And a bed.

She was on the bed.

Hope lay beside her.

Summer had no recollection of how she got here.

The last thing she remembered was …

She wasn't really sure.

She remembered amazing sex with Luke. Waking up in his arms. The cops at his door with a search warrant. A meeting at work. Talking with her friends at Hope and Chance’s house. And then …

Nothing.

She couldn’t recall a single thing after that.

Summer glanced out the window. It was dark. That meant she was missing hours. What exactly had happened to her during that missing time?

Beside her, Hope groaned and struggled to sit up.

“Hope.” She reached out and tried to steady her friend.

“Summer? What? Where? My head hurts.” Hope moaned, sinking back down against the mattress.

“I can't remember anything after having tea at your house,” she said.

“Me either.” Hope opened her eyes and looked over at her.

“Were we drugged?” It was the only thing Summer could think of that made sense.

“Then where’s Chance?” Panic was enough to get Hope scrambling up into a sitting position.

“And Aggie.” The four of them were together in the last memory she could summon. If someone had taken her and Hope, surely they had taken the others too.

“They must be around here somewhere.” Hope climbed from the bed, wobbled, and sat back down. “I feel so uncoordinated.” She dropped her head to her hands.

“Me too,” Summer agreed, shuffling to the edge of the mattress and standing more slowly, allowing her shaky body time to gain its bearings.

“Who would drug us?” Hope asked.

“And why bring us here?” Summer extended a hand to her friend and helped her stand.
